Last season's captain also gave his reaction regarding the team's new coach.

U Mumba is gearing up for PKL 10, and all the players are continuously practicing. The team's young defender Rinku is also busy with his preparations. In the right corner, Rinku had proved himself as U Mumba's best defender during the previous PKL season 9. It can be said that if any player had given an outstanding performance for U Mumba last season, it was Rinku.

There were several matches where he made excellent tackles and turned the match in the team's favour. During the 9th season, Rinku earned 59 tackle points in 19 matches and ranked sixth overall in this category. He executed seven super tackles, demonstrating his capability. Now, the team is preparing for the upcoming season, and before that, Rinku had an exclusive conversation with Khel Now about the team's strategy.

Last year, we lacked a quality raider

Right corner specialist Rinku believes that the reason for the team's failure last season was the absence of a top-notch raider. According to Rinku, the team had a significant gap in having a better raider.

He said, "Our preparation for the upcoming PKL season is going well. The action is about to begin, and we are preparing for that as well. This time, we definitely want to win the PKL title. At the start of the previous season, our team was doing quite well. Many young players were performing excellently, but later, Surinder Singh got injured, which was a big setback. Besides that, there was also a shortage of a raider in the team. This time, we want to rectify that deficiency. My target this time will also be to give the team the best possible performance and emerge as the best defender in PKL."

Reaction to the new coach

U Mumba has appointed Gholamreza Mazandarani from Iran as their head coach for the 10th season of PKL. Gholamreza had previously served as the head coach of U Mumba. He played the role of the main coach in the 2018 season, where the team finished second in Group A and secured a spot in the playoffs.

Rinku is excited to play under the guidance of the new Iranian coach. He said, "I am very excited to play under our new Iranian coach. It will be a lot of fun working with him. We will have the opportunity to learn many new techniques."

Auction strategy

In the 10th season of PKL, there are not many days left for action, and according to Rinku Singh, U-Mumba should strengthen their raiding department this time. According to him, the team needs a top-notch raider.

He said, "I want more emphasis on the raiding department this time in the auction. We should bring in one of the players like Pawan Sehrawat, Vijay Malik, or Maninder Singh to strengthen our raiding department. I believe Maninder Singh could be the most expensive buy in this year's auction."

Strategy for the season

With not many days left for the action of PKL's 10th season, Rinku believes that U Mumba should strengthen their raiding department this time. According to him, if the team wants to win the title, they must show excellent performance in defense. He said, "Raiders do their job, but we should focus more on improving the defense. The better the defense performs, the higher our chances of winning. A raider can win just one match, but a defender can win the entire tournament."

Message for new players

U Mumba's team often gives new players significant opportunities each season. This time, too, several young players may be selected. Rinku had a message for the newcomers. He said, "I would like to tell the newcomers who will debut to stay focused and concentrate only on the tournament. Because this can change your life. You need to focus on your practice. I will also try to set a different record this year."
