Asian Games 2023 Kabaddi: Indian men's team dominates Thailand to secure another win
Team India did not face much of a challenge in this match either.
The Indian men's kabaddi team defeated Thailand comprehensively with a score of 63-26 in their second match at the Asian Games 2023. The Thai team couldn't pose any real competition to the Indian team and had to face a one-sided defeat. India made a change in their starting seven for this match. Captain Surjeet Singh was replaced by vice-captain Sunil Kumar. Pawan Sehrawat and Navin Kumar delivered outstanding performances for the Indian team. Pawan Sehrawat secured a Super 10, while Nitish Kumar displayed excellent defensive skills.
Nitish Kumar displayed great prowess in defense from the very beginning of the first half. He demonstrated excellent backholds and ankle holds in defense, putting pressure on the Thai raiders. The Indian team all-outed Thailand three times in the first half, showcasing the exceptional performance of both defenders and raiders. Although Thailand's raider managed to secure a Super Raid during this time, the gap had widened so much that they couldn't make a comeback. Pawan Sehrawat and Navin Kumar consistently earned points. In the 17th minute, Navin Kumar was substituted for Aslam Inamdar. The first half ended with a score of 37-9.
Akash Shinde and Aslam Inamdar also delivered good performances
In the second half, the Indian team made several changes. Akash Shinde and Nitin Rawal were sent onto the field, while Vishal Bharadwaj and Arjun Deshwal were substituted. Thailand did try to make a comeback during this period. They not only earned points in defense but also secured raid points. In the second half, Akash Shinde and Aslam Inamdar primarily led the raids for India. Sachin Tanwar was also sent onto the mat in the 29th minute because victory for Team India was already assured. It's noteworthy that Akash and Aslam contributed with raid points as well, securing a splendid victory for Team India.
