Asian Games 2023: Indian women's team comfortably advances to finals by defeating Nepal
Team India has secured another medal.
The Indian women's kabaddi team has secured a place in the final of the Asian Games 2023. Team India defeated Nepal convincingly in the semifinal match with a score of 61-17. Nepal had been performing well so far, but this time they faced the Indian women's team, and they couldn't hold their ground. India displayed excellent gameplay in both raiding and defense, securing a fantastic victory and confirming their spot in the final.
India took an early lead, but Nepal's Anuja put up an excellent performance in raiding, bringing Nepal closer. However, Pooja Hathwala and Priyanka Palania scored points in both raiding and defense, extending India's lead by five points. Pooja Hathwala and Pushpa Rana continued to score points in raids, which allowed India to all-out Nepal within the first seven minutes and take a nine-point lead. Nidhi Sharma also contributed to the raiding after ten minutes, further improving India's position. India maintained a lead of 29-10 at halftime.
In the second half, the bench strength was given an opportunity
At the start of the second half, both India and Nepal earned points in raiding. Shortly after, there were excellent tackles in defense as well. Pooja Hathwala all-out Nepal in a single raid, and the Indian team extended their lead significantly. After that, other players were given a chance, and Akshima made the most of it by performing a super raid, surprising everyone. Meanwhile, in the second half, Nidhi and Pushpa were given a break. India all-out Nepal once again in the 27th and 30th minutes and eventually emerged victorious.
