PKL 10: Bengal Warriors Team Profile
The champion of the seventh season will depend more on her raiding.
The Bengal Warriors are all set for another PKL season under the leadership of Maninder Singh. The team's performance last season was not good and this time they would like to not only make it to the top six but also win the title. The Bengal Warriors won the PKL title in the seventh season. However, since then the team's performance has not been that good. If we talk about it, Bengal Warriors have not been able to play accordingly. The Bengal Warriors have re-acquired Maninder Singh for the next season. Maninder was released by the team and there was a lot of bidding for him in the auction but Bengal Warriors got him back using the FBM card.
Before the start of the season, let us tell you what are the strong points and weak points of Bengal Warriors.
Strong point of the team
The Raiding department is very strong because of Maninder Singh
For Bengal Warriors, their strongest point is their raiding department. Bengal had used the FBM card for Maninder Singh and with his presence in the team, the raiding department of the team has become much better. Maninder Singh played 21 matches for the team last season and scored 238 raid points. Maninder Singh is such a player who can win matches on his own and that is why it is great to have him in the team.
Apart from Maninder, Shrikant Jadhav is also present in raiding and he can also perform very well. Last season, he scored 123 raid points in 21 matches and provided excellent support to captain Maninder Singh. In such a situation, the raiding department of Bengal Warriors is looking very good because of these two giants.
Weak point of the team
The team may face problems in defense
Bengal Warriors do not have many options in defense this time and this could prove costly for the team. There are players like Shubham Shinde, Vaibhav Garje and Nitin Rawal on whom we can rely but apart from this, the other players do not have that much experience. If we talk about other defenders, players like Akshay Rathi, Aditya Shinde, Shreyas Umbardand, Deepak Shinde, Akshay Boda and Akshay Bhoir are part of the defence. However, these players cannot be trusted that much and due to this, Bengal Warriors may face problems in defense this time. Last time Girish Ernak was a part of the team and this time his absence may hurt the team.
Eyes will be on these players
In the Bengal Warriors team, most eyes are going to be on captain Maninder Singh. When the Bengal Warriors won the title of the seventh season of PKL, Maninder Singh's contribution was the maximum. Bengal Warriors had used an FBM card for him only so that he could win the match for the team by scoring maximum points in raiding. Maninder Singh would also like to repeat his old performance this time.
Apart from Maninder, there can be a lot of attention on another player Nitin Rawal. He is an all-rounder and was recently a part of the Indian team in the Asian Games. After playing at such a high level, his confidence must have increased a lot and in such a situation Nitin Rawal can prove to be very good. There will be high expectations from Shubham Shinde in defence, because he had shown an excellent game last season.
