For the first time in the league’s history, a player was sold for more than ₹2.5 crores.
During the auctions of the Pro Kabaddi League season 10 (PKL 10), there was intense bidding for several star players. Those players who were speculated to receive substantial bids for their services indeed witnessed spirited bidding during the auctions. Many such players experienced a bidding war during the auction. 5. Siddharth Desai - Haryana Steelers (1 crore)
One of the best raiders in PKL, Siddharth Desai was acquired by Haryana Steelers during the 10th season's auction for a hefty sum of 1 crore. Siddharth Desai is among the seasoned raiders of the Pro Kabaddi League and has broken several significant records. In the sixth season, he scored 218 raid points in 21 matches, making him the fastest player to reach 50 raid points in PKL history. He achieved this feat in just four matches and also received the Best Debutant award in the 2018 season.
4. Fazel Atrachali - Gujarat Giants (1 crore 60 lakhs)
Once again, a high bidding war was witnessed for star defender Fazel Atrachali. Gujarat Giants made a substantial bid for Fazel Atrachali during the 10th season's auction, securing him for 1 crore 60 lakhs. Fazel Atrachali had a base price of 30 lakhs, and initially, Telugu Titans placed a bid, followed by Gujarat Giants. Dabang Delhi also bid for him. The intense bidding war was ultimately won by Gujarat Giants.
3. Maninder Singh - Bengal Warriors (2 crores 12 lakhs)
Bengal Warriors captain, Maninder Singh, entered the PKL auction after several seasons, and there was strong bidding for him. Maninder Singh had a base price of 30 lakhs, and Patna Pirates placed the first bid for him. Telugu Titans and Bengaluru Bulls also made bids for Maninder Singh. Later, Dabang Delhi entered the bidding as well. However, in the end, Telugu Titans secured him for a price of 2 crores 12 lakhs, denying his dreams with Bengal Warriors.
2. Mohammadreza Shadlu - Puneri Paltan (2 crores 35 lakhs)
Iran's star all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadlu became the second most expensive player in the league's history during his third PKL season. He was bought for a hefty sum of 2 crores 35 lakhs during the 10th season's auction. Mohammadreza Shadlu had a base price of 30 lakhs, and U Mumba initially bid for him, followed by Bengal Warriors. UP Yoddhas also entered the bidding. Despite Gujarat Giants placing a 1 crore bid, Puneeri Paltan eventually secured him.
1. Pawan Sehrawat - Telugu Titans (2 crores 60 lakhs and 50 thousand)
High-flying raider Pawan Sehrawat once again became the most expensive player in PKL history. He was acquired by Telugu Titans for a substantial amount during the 10th season's auction, at 2 crores, 60 lakhs, and 50 thousand. Pawan Sehrawat had a base price of 20 lakhs, and Telugu Titans made a direct bid for him at 1 crore. Despite efforts from Bengaluru Bulls, Haryana Steelers, and Tamil Thalaivas, Telugu Titans secured Pawan Sehrawat for more than 2 crores.
Haryana Steelers also tried to acquire Pawan Sehrawat, placing a bid during the auction, but ultimately, Telugu Titans won the battle. During the 9th season's auction, Tamil Thalaivas had bid 2 crores 26 lakhs for him.
