The first match of Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 will be played between two-time runners-up Gujarat Giants and Telugu Titans at The Arena by TransStadia Stadium in Ahmedabad on December 2 at 8 pm.

The hosts, Gujarat Giants will be bolstered by the return of Iranian powerhouse Fazal Atrachalli who led them to the finals in their inaugural edition when they were introduced in PKL 5. He will have the company of his countrymate Mohammad Esmail Nabibakhsh who will play the role of a primary all-rounder.

The 2017 & 2018 finalists have gone to their old strategy of building a squad around a strong defensive unit by buying quality defenders like Sombir, Sourav Gulia, and Ravi Kumar. Rakesh Sangroha and Parteek Dahiya were in brilliant form in season 9 and will once again be the ones who will enter the opposition court to get points and wins for Gujarat. The 2022 season was a topsy-turvy one as the Giants finished in the 8th spot in the points table. They will target a playoff finish and nothing better than starting the season with a win.

On the other hand, nothing has gone right for Telugu Titans in the last three seasons. With a penultimate place finish in season 7 and as wooden spooners in seasons 8 & 9, Titans have been disappointing. But the only way from here is to the top and in the Auction they got the biggest star in Indian skipper Pawan Sehrawat. It will be difficult for the 26-year-old raider to do most of the work in the raiding department. The captain will have to inspire players such as Vinay and Rajnish, who missed the most of the PKL 9 due to injury.

They have an experienced cover defender in Parvesh Bhainswal to lead his defensive unit. The franchise also retained a couple of cover defenders Mohit and Nitin, who might have impressed the support staff during training sessions and hopefully bring it on to the mat.
