Exclusive: We have better players than Shadlu in our team for PKL 10 says Sachin Tanwar

The eminent raider revealed what the team’s strong aspect is this time.

The three-time champions, Patna Pirates, are fully prepared for the 10th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 10). Patna Pirates’ performance was not as impressive during the 9th PKL season. The team managed to win only 8 out of 22 matches and faced defeat in 11. Patna’s team was positioned at 10th in the points table, but this time, the team is determined to perform better.

Although Patna’s team did not show significantly better gameplay in the previous season, Sachin Tanwar had a commendable performance, and this time, expectations from him are even higher. Sachin Tanwar had an exclusive conversation with Khel Now, and let’s find out what he said.

The new coach’s management

After the poor performance in the previous season, Patna removed Ravi Shetty as the coach and appointed Narendra Kumar Redhu in his place. Sachin Tanwar praised the new coach, stating that the training under his guidance is going well.

Sachin Tanwar said, “My training is going quite well at the moment. Coach sir is providing us with excellent training, and our team’s confidence is quite high right now. Narendra Kumar Redhu is a very good coach. Before this, he was the coach of the Haryana Steelers. He has a lot of experience, and he is conducting our practice sessions very well. Our skills are being focused on, and mistakes are being rectified.”

Strategy for PKL Season 10

Patna’s team does not want to repeat the mistakes of the previous season, and according to Sachin Tanwar, this time the team is much better. They are working to eliminate the mistakes of the last time. He said, “This time, both our raiding department and defense are quite good. There were some shortcomings in the team last time, but we have rectified that this time. Manjeet’s addition will provide me with good support in raiding. He is an excellent raider. Last time, all the matches were quite close, and due to small mistakes in each match, we had to face defeat.”

Striving for improvement every season

Sachin Tanwar had a good performance in the eighth season, securing 172 points in 23 matches and taking the team to the final. He also played well in the ninth season, and this time, he wants to perform even better.

He said, “I had a great performance in PKL Season 8, and I played well in Season 9 too. Kabaddi is a team game, and when all players play better together, only then can the team win. I will make every effort to give a good performance in Season 10.”

Team won’t miss Mohammadreza Shadlu

During the eighth season, Patna Pirates included Iran’s Mohammadreza Shadlu in the team, and Shadlu created history by taking the most tackle points. Although he had a good performance in the ninth season as well, this time he is not part of the team. However, Sachin Tanwar believes that the team will not miss Shadlu.

He said, “Mohammadreza Shadlu may not be part of the team this time, but better players like Ankit, Neeraj Narwal, Manjeet, Rakesh, and Sajin Si are part of the team who are better than Shadlu. We will play as a united team.”

Aiming to bring the trophy to Patna Pirates is the first goal

Sachin Tanwar has set his target for the upcoming season of PKL. He wants to win the trophy for Patna Pirates this time. Regarding this, the young raider said, “Our target this time is to win the Pro Kabaddi League trophy for Patna Pirates. My dream is to make the team champions for the fourth time. My personal goal is also to win the PKL trophy because I have played in the finals three times, and every time I had to face defeat. So, I want to achieve this.”
