PKL 10: We committed mistakes throughout game, asserts Tamil Thalaivas captain Sagar Rathi
Tamil Thalaivas’ skipper Sagar (7 tackle points) was their star performer.
In the 60th match of PKL 10, Puneri Paltan faced Tamil Thalaivas. The match turned out to be low-scoring, but in the end, Pune secured a victory with a score of 29-26, maintaining their winning streak from the last 7 matches. In this encounter, Mohammadreza Shadloui, Gaurav Khatri, and Sagar Rathi scored High 5s in defense. On the other hand, the Raiders didn’t show any exceptional performance.
In the post-match press conference, Tamil Thalaivas‘ captain Sagar Rathi analyzed their defeat. Meanwhile, Puneri Paltan‘s coach BC Ramesh made a significant statement regarding Mohammadreza Shadloui’s aggressive gameplay.
We made mistakes in the dying moments of the game said Sagar Rathi
Tamil Thalaivas’ captain Sagar Rathi commented, “There were not many changes in our planning, and the team played as we had planned. We made mistakes in the end, and even in the last raid, we made a mistake. If our raiders had earned 1 or 2 bonus points, we could have won.”
“Going for advance tackles would be a mistake,” stated BC Ramesh
Puneri Paltan’s coach BC Ramesh commented on Shadloui’s aggressive play, saying, “Mohammadreza Shadloui showed aggressive gameplay, but I had advised my team to have patience. I told them to try and get points by going inside the opponent’s court but making advance tackles would be a mistake. In the end, he managed the team well by working patiently and efficiently.”
“Slowing down the match was necessary,” said Aslam Inamdar
Puneri Paltan’s captain Aslam Inamdar mentioned, “Watching the first half, it was necessary to slow down the game. If I may point out, in the second half, most of our tackles were successful. The coach also advised us to work patiently and not go for bonuses. Their team was performing well in the defense with three defenders, and due to consistent super tackles, they quickly covered the lead. In that situation, if we could have taken even one raid point, we could have achieved a big victory.”
