PKL 10: Telugu Titans become first team to get eliminate
Telugu Titans currently sit at the bottom of the table with only 2 wins.
Telugu Titans become the first team to be eliminated from season 10 of the Pro Kabaddi League. Having been at the bottom of the points table from the first day of the season, it isn’t a surprise for the PKL fans as their journey in the last few years is no different from that of this season. But, at the start of the season, there were some hopes when they bought Hi-Flyer Pawan Sehrawat.
But it made no difference as they started poorly losing the first five games. While they won against the Haryana Steelers, they lost the next seven games. It seemed that Telugu Titans had some luck playing at home when they beat UP Yoddhas. Yet, the win turned out to be once in a blue-moon performance as they suffered defeats in the rest of the home leg.
After 16 games, the Titans have just 16 points in their account. Out of all the 12 teams in the competition, their score differential of -172 is the worst. The Telugu Titans won’t place in the top six in the Pro Kabaddi 2023 points standings, even if they win handily in each of their final six league games. As of right now, the Titans have 16 points. They can get up to 46 points if they win their remaining games.
In PKL 10, ten teams already have 35 or more points. It is mathematically impossible for any team to finish with fewer than 47 points when there are still seven or eight league matches left for each side. Pawan would want to entertain his fans and Srinivas Reddy would want to pick some quality players to be retained for next season. Knowing the attitude of the players, they would still go for wins in the rest of the games to play spoilsport in the chances of others.
