PKL 10: Unnecessary advance tackles cost us the match, says U Mumba captain Surinder Singh

Jaipur ended Mumba’s five-game winning streak.
In the 58th match of PKL 10, U Mumba faced Jaipur Pink Panthers, where the defending champions Jaipur secured a convincing victory with a scoreline of 41-31. This win shattered U Mumba’s winning streak of five matches. In this match, Arjun Deshwal and Guman Singh scored super-10s for U Mumba, but Jaipur Pink Panthers proved superior in defensive plays.
During the post-match press conference, Sunil Kumar, the captain of Jaipur Pink Panthers, revealed the strategy devised against U Mumba. Meanwhile, Surinder Singh, the captain of U Mumba, shared his perspective on the outcome of the match.
We prevented them from taking bonuses, stated Sunil Kumar
The captain of Jaipur Pink Panthers. He explained, “They were scoring touch points, and we were quick enough to return the favour, but covering the lead in bonuses becomes challenging. Therefore, we stopped Guman from taking bonuses, and we succeeded in preventing Zafardanesh too.”
The comeback of Alireza was positive for the team, says Gholamreza Mazandarani
The coach of U Mumba said, “We lost this match, but there were 2-3 good things for us, one of which was the return of Alireza. He might have been struggling with injuries for about 40 days, but all this is new for him. I have seen him; he is a good player, but he needed time to regain control over himself. Hopefully, he will perform better in the future. We need players like him.”
Many unnecessary advance tackles cost us the match says U Mumba’s captain
Surinder Singh, the captain of U Mumba, mentioned, “We have many young players in our team, and due to a lack of experience, where we should have played patiently, they repeatedly attempted advance tackles. Today, the main reason for the team’s loss was the failure of the defense.”
