The team’s performance in this PKL season has not been as good so far.

In PKL Season 10, the Telugu Titans‘ performance has not been up to par. The team has been consistently losing matches and is currently at the bottom of the points table. Titans have only managed to win two matches so far, and they have faced defeat in the remaining matches. Coach Srinivas Reddy has tried various strategies, but success has eluded them. The team’s defense has been a complete letdown, and apart from Pawan Sehrawat, other players have not performed well in raiding. In this situation, Titans and Pawan Sehrawat’s fans are quite disappointed.

However, despite the team’s poor performance, the CEO of Telugu Titans, Jeeru Trinadh, is not disheartened. During an exclusive interview with Khel Now, he expressed his views on the team’s strategy, including why they spent so much money on acquiring Pawan Sehrawat.

Strategy of Telugu Titans during the start of the season

The CEO of Telugu Titans explained, “Telugu Titans have spent a considerable amount of money on acquiring players in the last few seasons. We spent more than a crore for Rahul Chaudhari. After that, in the seventh season, we spent a significant amount for Siddharth Desai, and this season, we placed a record bid for Pawan Sehrawat.”

“We used to scout players by going to various places to search for talent, including University Games, Junior Nationals, and other places. We still do that, but this time we conducted an All India Open Trial in Hyderabad, where 850 players participated. From these, we shortlisted 21 players. We organized a 15-day camp for these 21 players, from which we selected four young players.”

Auction strategies

He continued, “We nominated these four players in the auction as NYPs. Apart from them, we bought four more good players. We also retained two more young players in the list. In total, we had 10 players. After that, we wanted players like Pawan or Maninder Singh, who could build a team around them. We thought of creating a mix of youth and experience for the team.”

Comeback in the upcoming matches:

Similar to the last two PKL seasons, the performance of Telugu Titans is not as good this time. The team has only won one match out of 11. However, the CEO has expressed confidence in the team’s comeback in the upcoming matches.

CEO Jeeru Trinadh said, “We wanted to strengthen our defense, and for that, we have Iranian players in the right corner and right cover. Shankar Gadai also plays on the right corner. Ajit Pawar and Omkar More, along with Nitin, are part of the team on the left cover. We also bought experienced players like Sandeep Dhull. We felt that our defense was completely set, but we haven’t seen that spark within the team. Nevertheless, we still have faith in a comeback.”

Efforts to include Maninder Singh in the team:

Titans’ CEO, Jeeru Trinadh, revealed that they had planned to bring in Maninder Singh but changed their focus to acquiring Pawan Sehrawat when the FBM card was used for Maninder Singh.

He said, “It’s not that we came with the intention of bidding so high for Pawan Sehrawat. Maybe we could have gotten him even for a crore, but the flow of money for him in the auction was so high. If Pawan Sehrawat wasn’t there, we had come with the mindset of acquiring Maninder Singh, but Bengal Warriors had the FBM card, and they used it.”
