PKL 10 Eliminator 2: Haryana Steelers put in Giant-killing performance to qualify for semis
Haryana will face Jaipur Pink Panthers in the semis.
Haryana Steelers displayed a dominating game to knock out Gujarat Giants in the second eliminator of Pro Kabaddi League 10 (PKL 10). The topsy-turvy battle saw the Haryana Steelers take the first blood thanks to Mohit Nandal’s three successful tackles in the first eight minutes of the game. The Giants came back strongly with Parteek Dahiya inflicting yet another super raid to take Haryana’s three top defenders in Jaideep Dahiya, Rahul Sethpal, and Mohit Nandal.
The Haryana Steelers weren’t giving away easily like they have done all season with Vinay scoring points in two do-or-die Raids in the final minutes to secure a five-point lead at half-time. There was no looking back for the Manpreet Singh-coached side as the Haryana Steelers continued to dominate the proceedings in the second half as well.
It was rather unlike Gujarat Giants‘ performance especially from the experienced Iranian duo of Fazel Atrachali and Mohammad Nabibhaksh as they both together scored only a solitary point throughout the game. None of their defenders turned up for the game as Sombir (1 point) and Deepak Singh (2 Points) rarely made an impact.
There were multiple heroes on the day for the men in blue starting from their lead Raider with Vinay scoring a Super 10. The star of the show was from the Right cover Mohit Nandal who was unstoppable as he led the team to the semifinal and they will take on defending champions Jaipur Pink Panthers on Wednesday.
