PKL 10: Haryana Steelers become sixth team to qualify for playoffs

With Steelers’ qualification, all 6 teams have been decided for the playoffs.

The 10th season of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 10) is now being played at Panchkula. The home team Haryana Steelers defeated the Patna Pirates 39–32 in tonight’s opening game. By virtue of the win Haryana Steelers have booked their rightful spot in the playoffs of the season 10. The miniscule chances of Bengal Warriors for a playoff spot has been closed thanks to a win for the home team.

In the game, Patna and Haryana had a strong start with an cautious approach. Not one of them were offering easy scoring opportunities as the score at halftime was 13–13. Patna forced Haryana to go all out in the second half. Haryana overcame all odds and emerged victorious against Patna. This game was won by Haryana.

Siddharth Desai scored a super 10 as he finished with 12 raid points. Rahul Sethpal had eight tackle points and a high five. Jaideep Dahiya, the skipper, scored six tackle points and a high five. Mohit finished with a high of five tackle points. With them being an all-round side, Haryana Steelers could just achieve a thing which they have been trying since season five.

Despite losing the game, Patna would still be happy about some of the positives from this game. Especially they showed their bench strength in the defensive department as the duo of Thyagarajan Yuvraj and Sanjay scored High-5s. With game time in their hands, they will confident going into the next round.
