Both teams will lock horns in the second eliminator the season 10.

The Pro Kabaddi League is about to unfold the most entering phase of its tenth edition in the form of the playoffs. While table toppers Puneri Paltan and Jaipur Pink Panthers have already booked a spot in the semi-finals, the other four teams will battle it out in the eliminators for a place in the semi-finals.

Haryana Steelers will lock horns against the Gujarat Giants for a right to play against the Jaipur Pink Panthers in semi-final 2. It is going to be an electric clash for both sides because their whole season is on the line.

On that note, let us take a look at the keys to success for both teams in Eliminator 2.

Gujarat Giants

Fazel Atrachali’s captaincy

The Giants brought in the services of the most successful defender in the history of the league ahead of the 2023-24 PKL season. The Iranian skipper has played an integral role in taking the Gujarat Giants to the knockouts this season with his leadership skills and his defensive prowess. He has experience playing such high-intensity games and his input will be very important for the Giants if they wish to go past the Steelers.

Sombir’s form at the back

Sombir has been one of the important players at the back for Gujarat Giants. He has recorded the second-most number of tackle points for his side (51) and is ranked 20th on the list of the top defenders this season. Moreover, his synergy with Mohammad Nabibakhsh has also been a key factor behind the Giants’ rigidity. He will have the responsibility to neutralize the danger and not give away anything to the Haryana Steelers.

Parteek Dahiya’s form upfront

Prateek Dahiya has been the lead raider for the Gujarat Giants this season. He has done a very good job up front for the Giants and will hope to continue his rhythm. Prateek has performed very well in all the bigs this season and is aiming for the same against the Steelers. He is currently high on confidence, thanks to his good run of form coming into this match and will hope to build upon it.

Haryana Steelers

Backline’s performance

Haryana Steelers have one of the strongest backlines in the league this season. All their defenders have completed 40 or more tackles this season. Jaideep Dahiya is ranked 6th, Rahul Sethpal is at 8th and Mohit Nandal is at the 11th spot in the list of the most number of tackle points this season.194 points out of Haryana’s total 572 tackle points have been won by the trio.

Siddharth Desai and Shivam Patare’s form

If Haryana wants to get the better of the Gujarat Giants, Siddharth Desai and Shivam Patre will have to play their part with precision. The duo will have to make sure that there is no over-dependence on Vinay to score points. They will have to share equal responsibilities and render their full support to Vinay. The duo consists of 177 raid points and have the ability to go out there and help their team get over the line.

Vinay – the leader upfront

Vinay will have huge responsibilities on his shoulders to score raid points for his side in the most important game of the season. He is Haryana’s top scorer this season with 137 raid points and ranks tenth in the list of the top raiders. Vinay is high on confidence and has had a great run of form coming into this match. Expect him to fire on all cylinders against the Giants.
