PKL 10: This win fills our players with confidence for upcoming matches says Patna Pirates coach

The Pirates took a huge step towards securing a playoff spot in the ongoing season.
In a recent Pro Kabaddi League season 10 (PKL 10) clash between the Patna Pirates and U Mumba, the former emerged as the winners courtesy of a 44-23 scoreline at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday. The win takes the Pirates to 63 points in the standings and a step closer to finally securing a playoff berth for the ongoing season.
Skipper of the Patna Pirates, Sachin, contributed with 10 points while Krishan and Sudhakar scored eight and seven points respectively to propel the team to a 10th win of the season. As for U Mumba, they were poor across the board and underperformed in both attack and defence, succumbing to an 11th defeat of the campaign.
There were contrasting emotions in both camps during the post-match interaction. Here is what the coaches and the players had to say:
The win fills the players with confidence – Anil Chaprana
Anil Chaprana, the Assistant Coach of Patna Pirates, believes that the victory will do well to increase the players’ confidence. He said, “Whenever the team wins, no matter which opposition, it fills the players with confidence. This win will help build the team’s confidence and we will try to play with the same intensity against Telugu Titans in the upcoming contest to qualify for the playoffs.”

Sachin on the team’s performance
Sachin, the star raider who secured a Super 10, talked about the team’s balance in defence and attack. He said, “Our defence performed well today. There was good chemistry between the defence and the attack. Our strategy was to gain control of the match, take things slow and win at all costs to get nearer to the playoffs.”
KC Suthar’s analysis of the result
KC Suthar indicated that his team could have done better in defence during his interaction with the media. He opined, “We needed to control the match while we were defending. We were not successful in defending at the starting point of the game. Our plan today was unsuccessful and that is the reason for the defeat.”
Mistakes in defence and attack cost the game
Mahender Singh was direct in his response to why U Mumba lost in a demoralising way to the Pirates. He said, “The team made mistakes in both attack and defence. We tried but could not get luck on our side. We will plan for the forthcoming matches and try to follow it.”
