Bengal Warriors finished their home leg with two wins and two losses.

The Kolkata leg of season 10 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 10) proved to be decisive in finalizing the playoff spots. The perennial table toppers of this season Jaipur And Pune sealed their semis spot. Former three time champions Patna Pirates and Dabang Delhi also ensured that they will have another go at the title this season.

Two-time finalists Gujarat Giants booked their playoff spot as well. The toss-up for the final spot is up for grabs between Bengal Warriors and Haryana Steelers, with the latter most likely to move to the next round. Bengal missed out in their home leg as many players dominated the Kolkata Leg who happened to be in the ‘Team of the Leg‘.

PKL 10: Team of the Kolkata Leg:

Raiders

Nitin Kumar (Bengal Warriors)

The Bengal Warriors have been struggling this season due to the lack of a secondary Raider. It has taken them 20 games to unearth the talented Nitin Kumar. The Right Raider had an impressive home season scoring 38 points in four games. The Super 10 against Telugu Titans might be seen as a one-off performance, but he proved it wrong as he scored another Super 10 against a strong Gujarat Giants defense.

Parteek Dahiya (Gujarat Giants)

Prateek Dahiya, a teenage raider for the Gujarat Giants, made waves during the Kolkata leg with his prowess, scoring 26 points in just two games. In the game against the Bengaluru Bulls and Bengal Warriors, he scored 13 points apiece. He played quite well against the Bengaluru Bulls after entering as a substitute. He executed multiple super raids to lead the team to victory which has prompted him to the Team of the Week.

Pawan Sehrawat (Telugu Titans)

Although their performances improved, the results didn’t as the Titans suffered defeats in both games. One man who has single-handedly been performing for the Titans is Pawan Sehrawat and it was him again in the Kolkata Leg. Captain Pawan Sehrawat performed admirably against Patna as he scored 16 points, but the other Raiders did not help him. The Hi-Flyer ended the Leg with 22 points to feature in the Team of the Week.

Defenders

Fazel Atrachali (Gujarat Giants)

Gujarat Giants qualified for the playoffs by winning both their matches during the Kolkata leg and their captain Fazel Atrachali performed brilliantly in both these matches. He scored a total of 11 points in two matches. It was a confidence booster performance both for the team and the skipper. Fazel Atrachali’s high-fives in both matches and has taken over the Left Corner position in this team.

Krishan Dhull (Patna Pirates)

Krishan Dhull, the right-corner specialist for the Patna Pirates, has been the defender of the season for the three-time champions. During the Kolkata leg, Patna also made it to the playoffs, thanks to Krishan who was crucial to their success. He scored 12 points in two games and has continued his amazing form. The Pirates would win more games if Krishan continues his merry way.

Vaibhav Garje (Bengal Warriors)

Vaibhav Garje of the Bengal Warriors is a member of this week’s Team of the Leg at left cover. Vaibhav Garje made an impact on the team in practically every game. Although the Bengal Warriors couldn’t win all the games, he has helped the team stay alive in the playoff race. He has been rock solid in the Left Cover position dominating the opposition Raiders coming into their court.

Milad Jabbari (Telugu Titans)

Telugu Titans’ defense finally has found a reliable defender as the Iranian Milad Jabbari has been entrusted with the cover position not only in the Titans starting seven but also in the Team of the Leg. The game against the Bengal Warriors was a classic example of his domination as he scored nine points against a strong duo of Maninder Singh and Nitin Kumar. He ended the Kolkata Leg with 11 points and hoping to add more in the next leg.
