Three-time Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) champions Patna Pirates have announced the appointment of former Indian skipper and PKL champion Anup Kumar as their new head coach. This move comes days after Patna’s heartbreaking defeat in the PKL 11 final. Anup Kumar replaced the outgoing Narender Redhu who joined the Pirates ahead of PKL 10 and guided them into the playoffs in both his seasons in charge.

This news has sent shock waves across the Kabaddi circuit because Narender Redhu had delivered convincing results and did not deserve to be replaced and it now remains to be seen where he is headed as a lot of teams have already released their head coaches. Anup Kumar is a valuable addition to the Patna Pirates as he brings with him a lot of experience and expertise.
