Both teams would like to start their journey with a win.

The first weekend of season 11 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 11) will have a blockbuster Sunday with two former champions Bengal Warriorz and Jaipur Pink Panthers battling it out against each other to start the season with a win.

Both teams have built a strong squad with a talismanic raider leading the attacking front and two of the most successful defenders of all time in PKL history. For Jaipur, it is Arjun Deshwal who will be wrecker-in-chief and the best Indian defender ever of all-time Surjeet Singh manning the defense.

Meanwhile, the season seven champions Bengal Warriorz will be led by the best overseas defender of all time Fazel Atrachali with Maninder Singh being the leader of the attack for the seventh consecutive season, in fact, part of the Pink Panthers when they lifted the trophy in the inaugural edition.

The champion teams have lifted the trophy not because of a couple of players but a quality squad which both teams possess for the season. A win in the first match of the season is an ideal start between the teams which has a rich history in the decade-long history of the league.

Warriorz and Panthers both have produced some of the best encounters over the years. Both teams have produced many thrillers with three games being decided by one point. It was Bengal who came out winning on all three occasions. It has been a topsy-turvy battle between both teams.

In the inaugural edition, the eventual champions won on both occasions. The men in blue pulled it back in the next two seasons winning four out of four. Season four saw them share the accolades as they won one game each.

In season five, when four new teams were introduced, the league went into a zonal mode with teams split into two groups of six. Both teams were in opposite zones and hence played only one game in seasons five and six with the Warriorz winning both the battles.

The 2019 edition saw them produce two thrilling games with the Panthers winning a 2-point game and later in the season Bengal got one back with a 1-point win. The Warriorz continued their winning run in the next season winning both the games.

Jaipur had a dream journey in season nine not only winning both the games against Warriorz but also lifting the trophy for the second time. It includes their biggest win against them with a massive 26-point win. Last season saw a tie and a Jaipur win. Fazel Atrachali and the boys would want to win the game to establish their dominance over the men in Pink.
