PKL 11: Dabang Delhi retention list before auction

The champion of 8th season has retained a total of 7 players for PKL 11.
In the Pro Kabaddi League season 10, many believed that the season for Dabang Delhi KC was over when Naveen Kumar was ruled out due to an injury. But the caliber of their squad was untenable as they qualified even after losing their star player. Ashu Malik stepped up in the absence of Naveen and their defense was fortress-like as opposition raiders struggled to breach into.
Every club can learn from Dabang Delhi’s experience, as they consistently assembled a strong team each season thanks to the assistance of their talent scouts in domestic competitions. The season eight champions will look to repeat it this season. They made a surprising move by elevating Joginder Narwal from being an assistant coach to their head coach for PKL 11.
His relationship with players was evident when they retained Naveen Kumar for just 37.23 lakhs. With the continuation of Naveen and Ashu, the raiding department will be taken care. For defense, the franchise from the capital city has ensured the services of the corner combo of Yogesh Dahiya and Ashish. Yogesh won the New Young Player award last season and hence has been rightfully retained.
Ashish’s performance last season has pushed a case for himself over the experienced Vishal Bharadwaj at the left corner. Joginder, who himself was a left corner defender has relied on the exuberance of youth which has given them success. The retention of Vikrant has sealed the left cover position and the Dabangs will look to find a quality partner for him at the right cover position.
Retention List: (Purse Remaining – 2.66 cr)
Elite Players: Naveen Kumar, Ashu Malik, Vikrant
New Young Players: Yogesh, Himmat Anitl, Ashish Malik, Manu Deswal
