The league will witness three high profile clashes on its opening day.
The eighth edition of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) will get underway in Bengaluru come December 22. The city will play host to all the 12 Pro Kabaddi outfits in what will be a closed-door affair to minimize travel and in order to ensure everyone’s safety.
This time the organizers have changed the format for the first four days with the introduction of the triple-header aka “Triple Panga.” This initiative will allow all the fans to watch their favourite teams and players in action in the first four matches itself.
The first match of Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 will be played between U Mumba and Bengaluru Bulls. Followed by the Southern derby between Telugu Titans and Tamil Thalaivas. The final match of the triple-header will see the defending champions Bengal Warriors go up against UP Yoddha.

Ahead of the start of the Pro Kabaddi League, Anupam Goswami, CEO, Mashal Sports and League Commissioner, PKL said, “Through season 8 we look forward to setting an example for indoor sport in India. The season will be conducted at a single venue without spectators. But we are ensuring that fans will continue to witness a world-class league. This time we are making use of top-notch technology and innovations to keep fans engaged with the matches and the league. We have not reduced the number of matches but have a slightly reduced duration of the season.
