As far as history is concerned, Haryana Steelers and Tamil Thalaivas are two teams who have taken contrasting paths in their journey since coming into the Pro Kabaddi League in 2017. Haryana had performed brilliantly by making it to the playoffs in their very first year.

The team flopped to sixth place the next year but rebounded well in 2019 and booked another appearance in the playoffs.

Steelers’ greatest season came in the 2023-24 season when the team managed to progress to their maiden PKL finals. Although the Steelers lost to Puneri Paltan, they proved their mettle throughout the last season.

On the other hand, Tamil Thalaivas never seemed to begin the season well right from their inaugural season and finished last in the zone with just six wins.

Nothing much changed in the following seasons as they always found themselves in the bottom half of the table, but the Thalaivas’ fortunes completely changed in 2022 when they qualified for the playoffs for the first time.

But on and off they have given something to cheer on for their supporters. The Chennai-based team created history in the 2023-24 season by scoring 74 points against Bengal Warriorz setting the record for highest points in a PKL match.
