All you need to know about KCL trials-

The recently concluded trials for the Kabaddi Champions League drew a strong nationwide response, underlining the growing interest in the competition.

More than 3,500 players registered for the trials, with over 1,500 athletes participating in the central trials held in Sonipat.

Following a detailed and competitive evaluation process, over 110 players have already been shortlisted, while the final auction pool is expected to include around 200 to 250 players across various categories.

Alongside emerging and grassroots talent, the league will also see the participation of several established kabaddi players with experience in national competitions and top professional leagues. Their presence is expected to significantly enhance the overall quality and intensity of the tournament, offering fans a high-standard kabaddi spectacle from the very first season.

The trials were held at designated venues in Sonipat and surrounding areas to ensure a systematic and transparent selection process. Renowned former kabaddi players and experienced stalwarts formed part of the selection panels, bringing credibility and technical insight to the scouting exercise.

With the trials phase completed, focus now moves to the player auction. Franchises will build balanced squads featuring raiders, defenders, and all-rounders through a live bidding process, while operating within prescribed purse limits and squad composition rules. Further details regarding auction guidelines will be shared ahead of the event.

Designed to strengthen Kabaddi’s pathway from grassroots to the professional level, the Kabaddi Champions League aims to create meaningful opportunities for players and establish a strong competitive foundation ahead of its debut season.
