PKL 11: 3 key players of Gujarat Giants in Pro Kabaddi League season 11
The Giants have reached the Playoffs in four of the six PKL seasons in which they have competed.
Gujarat Giants could be contenders for the title in the upcoming 2024-25 season of the Pro Kabaddi League. The outfit has several talented individuals in their squad and has shown positive moves in the auction. The two-time runners-up will not leave any stone unturned to finally lift the trophy at the end of the campaign.
Under the expert leadership of head coach Ram Mehar Singh, the Gujarat Giants could be one of the teams to become Pro Kabaddi League 2024-25 champions. Their squad has the quality that is required to win consistently during the season.
The squad has a lot of quality in the raiding department, but the defense might struggle on odd days. With a man like Ram Mehar Singh on the sidelines, the players will give their utmost to earn glory for their passionate fans.
As the new season approaches, here’s a look at three key players for the Gujarat Giants ahead of the 2024-25 season of the Pro Kabaddi League:
Parteek Dahiya
Gujarat Giants will rely on their raiding department to dominate matches and outwit their opponents to achieve victory. Parteek Dahiya, as a result, is set to play a vital role in the team’s success. He will aim to provide support to Guman Singh and secure points for the team.
Parteek Dahiya has been excellent for the Giants in the past. He scored 183 points and 141 points for the outfit in the last two seasons respectively.
Mohammad Nabibakhsh
Speaking of all-rounders, the Gujarat Giants will hope that Mohammad Nabibakhsh can shine for them in the 2024-25 term. The Iranian powerhouse was bought by the outfit during the auction for 13.60 lakhs. As the defense lacks experienced players who can consistently perform, a lot of responsibility to provide stability on the backfoot will fall on Nabibakhsh.
Mohammad Nabibakhsh scored 108 points for Bengal Warriorz in season eight but has failed to replicate that form for the Gujarat Giants. Now in his second season with the outfit, the fans will be expecting the all-rounder to contribute in both attack and defense.
Guman Singh
Guman Singh will spearhead the raiding department of the Gujarat Giants in the upcoming season. The highly talented raider was bought by the outfit for ₹1.97 Crores during the auction. He delivered his best-ever performance in the PKL last season, scoring 168 points for U Mumba.
Securing Guman Singh’s services was a major statement by the Gujarat Giants. He became the third-most-expensive buy in the 2024 PKL auction surpassing proven talents like Pawan Sehrawat, Pardeep Narwal and more. A lot is riding on his shoulders as the Giants are heavily reliant on their attack going into the 11th edition of the prestigious league competition.
