PKL 11: 3 key players of Puneri Paltan in Pro Kabaddi League season 11
The defending champions have retained their core team for PKL 11.
The latest edition of the Pro Kabaddi League is just around the corner and will witness twelve teams go up against each other for the elusive trophy. Defending champions Puneri Paltan will look to defend their crown and will do everything in their power to go the distance once again this season. They have retained their core squad from last season and added the right mix of youth and experience for PKL 11.
Aslam Inamdar will continue to lead the side with head coach BC Ramesh for a third consecutive season. The defending champions will begin their campaign with a replay of the last edition’s final against Haryana Steelers on October 19. On that note, let’s take a look at the top three key players of Puneri Paltan in PKL 11.
Gaurav Khatri (Defender)
Gaurav Khatri was Puneri Paltan’s best Indian defender last season. His rigidity and composure at the back will come in very handy for his side. He secured 72 points last season, including 69 tackle points in 24 games. He is well known for his strong ankle holds and chain tackles to neutralize the danger from opposition raiders.
Khatri had a 59% tackle success rate last season. He will be a key figure for the Paltan at the back and will need to stand up to the occasion to fill in the void left by Mohammadreza Shadlou Chiyaneh.
Mohit Goyat (Raider)
Mohit Goyat will look to bring his same run of form in PKL 11 and continue from where he left last season. Mohit had a big role in Puneri’s title win last season. It is expected that he will give his best performance this season also.
He is a versatile player and has contributed heavily in both attack and defense for the Paltan. Moreover, his solid partnership with skipper Aslam Inamdar was a driving force behind their dream title run. He has accumulated 475 points in the colors of Puneri Paltan and will be keen to add more points to his tally.
Aslam Inamdar (All-rounder)
Aslam Inamdar has emerged as a household in the Indian Kabaddi setup over the past few seasons. He is one of the best all-rounders that the nation has ever produced and is known for his leadership, consistency, and mature gameplay.
