The youngster emerged as one of the best finds of the season.

The kabaddi players have returned to their homes after the completion of a successful and exciting Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 8. Dabang Delhi won the tile by the barest of margins. They defeated three-time champions Patna Pirates 37-36 in the final to clinch the coveted trophy. The Puneri Paltan also performed brilliantly in the tournament, as they reached the playoffs courtesy of their star raider Mohit Goyat.

A lot of new young players emerged from nowhere in the recently concluded season of the PKL. The remarkable performances of these new players also established the fact that the future of Indian kabaddi is in safe hands. While Mohit Goyat performed well for Puneri Paltan, it was Naveen Kumar who took Dabang Delhi to the coveted crown.

All-rounder Vijay Malik also played a huge part in Delhi’s title win as he notched 14 points in the final. Both teams went toe-to-toe in the final for the title. Some key decisions from the coaches also affected the result of the final. For Patna Pirates, young raider Sachin Tanwar scored 10 points, however, his efforts went in vain.

Naveen Kumar and Mohit Goyat come from the same village in Bhiwani district. The Delhi raider returned to his village a few days back and now Mohit Goyat has also received a warm welcome in his village Bhaini Kungar. He was the top raider for Puneri Paltan last season.

The raider scored a total of 187 points in just 20 games, with a strike rate of 45%. He emerged as the best player of his team, despite being in the shadows of Rahul Chaudhary and Nitin Tomar before the start of the season.

Mohit Goyat played his first season like any other experienced player. He paired up with Aslam Inamdar throughout the season and both of them made sure that Puneri Paltan reached their first playoffs since 2017.  Now, he will have his eyes set on winning the gold medal for India at the Asian Games later this year.

He has to produce rock-solid performances to get into the Indian team as the level of competition is very high. Puneri Paltan will try to retain him and will expect a lot from him next season.
