Where are PKL Season 3 title-winning Patna Pirates team members now?

The franchise won the first of their three league titles in this season.

Patna Pirates are the most successful team in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). They have won three PKL titles overall, that too consecutively. Pardeep Narwal was an important factor in the team’s success and was the biggest star in the lineup. Apart from him, many other notable players have represented the franchise and contributed to their success.

In the PKL Season 3, Patna Pirates faced U Mumba in the final. The Pirates however clinched the title for the first time, courtesy a hard-fought encounter that ended 31-28.

But, where are the seven players who started the final for the Pirates on that day? We take a look:

Pardeep Narwal

Pardeep Narwal was an outstanding performer for the Patna Pirates in PKL Season 3. He scored 116 points that season, which was the highest total in the division. However, he could not score a single point in the final, as Rohit Kumar along with the rest of the team managed to perform brilliantly and guide the franchise to victory.

Narwal also led the team to successive title wins in the next two seasons. The "Dubki King' will play for UP Yoddha in the eighth season of the PKL, after he fetched a record price of ₹1.65 crore at the auction.

Rohit Kumar

Rohit Kumar was the most valuable player in the third season of the Pro Kabaddi League. He played an important part in making the Patna Pirates the winners.

He played 12 matches and scored 102 raid points. Against U Mumba in the final, he scored eight points, which was the highest tally by an individual player. He played as a great support to Pardeep Narwal in the following seasons for the Pirates and in the upcoming campaign, Kumar will be playing for Telugu Titans in the PKL.

D. Suresh Kumar

D. Suresh Kumar is a very experienced player and has played over 59 matches, scoring 103 points in the process. He was part of the title-winning Patna Pirates team in the third season of the PKL.

Kumar managed only two points in the final fixture against U Mumba, but his overall contribution was impressive. He went on to play for Dabang Delhi in Season 4 and U Mumba in Season 5 before hanging up his boots.

Sandeep Narwal

An astonishing all-rounder in Sandeep Narwal was playing for the Patna Pirates in the third season. He scored the most tackle points for the team and overall was the second-highest (53) points-getter.

Narwal was immense in the final against U-Mumba where he scored seven points. While Pardeep Narwal and Rohit Kumar led the attack, Sandeep Narwal kept the defence solid. He will play for Dabang Delhi in the upcoming eighth edition of the PKL.

Sunil Kumar

Sunil Kumar has overall played 63 matches, scoring a total of 109 points. He has over 105 tackle points to his name in the competition. Kumar also has seven super tackles and two high-fives on his record. The player contributed two points to the team total in the final of the third season.

He retire from the sport post this season.

Vinod Kumar

Vinod Kumar was also a part of the squad when Patna Pirates lifted the PKL title in Season 3. He played nine matches, made 61 tackles and scored 16 points in the process. He was a great support to Sandeep Narwal in defence and one cannot undermine his contribution during that season. After all, he recorded three points in the final against U Mumba, which were crucial.

He then went on to play for Telugu Titans in Season 5 and Puneri Paltan in Season 6 before hanging up his boots.

Manpreet Singh

Manpreet Singh has also won the PKL title with the Patna Pirates and is currently working with Gujarat Giants as a coach. He had a brief stint as a player in the premier kabaddi tournament, where he played one season and ended it as a champion.

In the third season, he played 13 matches and scored 24 points for the outfit. Manpreet was not very impressive in the final, where he managed one point from 12 raids. .
