Pardeep Narwal is one of the most decorated players in PKL history.

It was late in the day when Pardeep Narwal came up for the Auction in season 11 of Pro Kabaddi League. There was a hush when his name was announced. Dabang Delhi started the proceedings with a base price of Rs 20 lakhs. The Auctioneer herself with much bewilderment as none of the teams were raising the paddle. It was the calm before the storm as Bulls came rushing in.

Once Randhir Singh Sehrawat joined the race, they were welcomed by U Mumba and the real fight began. The Bulls raised the bid to Rs 30 lakhs, and U Mumba wasn’t giving up easily as they raised it to Rs 45 lakhs. In a span of time the price for the record breaker shot up to Rs 70 lakhs with Bengaluru Bulls. The coach Randhir had a hard look waiting for the answer from UP Yoddhas.

Ironically, the Yoddhas having signed former Bengaluru Bulls’ lead raider Bharat decided not to opt for the FBM card. The record breaker will wear the red jersey of Bengaluru Bulls and will look to continue entering the record books. He is the raider with the most points and the 27-year-old has been one of the faces of PKL for years.

The Pro Kabaddi League became an instant hit in the first two seasons of the league. But a cult following for the league started seeing the pyrotechnics of Pardeep Narwal. With a calm unassuming face, no one can guess the amount of damage Pardeep could cause to an opposition. No one knows it better than Haryana Steelers when he once whipped off six members in a single raid.

He was instrumental in Patna Pirates winning a hat-trick of titles in PKL history. He joined the Pirates in season three and along with Rohit Kumar ensured they won their first title. Pardeep had to miss the finals due to an injury, but he compensated in the finals of the next season as his 16 points helped them successfully defend their title.

His best was yet to come and with the introduction of four new teams, the Dubki King loved deceiving the defenders and ended the season with a mammoth 369 raid points on his way to the third PKL trophy. His domination in the league continued for the next two seasons scoring 233 and 304 points and became the first player ever to score 1000 points in the history of the league.

But he was released ahead of season eight to the surprise of many. UP Yoddhas pounced on the opportunity spending Rs 1.65 cr giving another reason for Narwal to rewrite history books. The 27-year-old helped them make the playoffs in the next two seasons but injuries and a drop in form meant that the Yoddhas missed qualifying for the playoffs for the first time and was let go by coach Jasveer Singh.
