Bharat Hooda played for Bengaluru Bulls last season in the PKL.

Bharat Hooda will move from down south of Bengaluru and go up north to join the UP Yoddhas after being signed by them for Rs 1.3 cr. The Yoddhas had released Pardeep Narwal ahead of the auction and was looking for a quality raider to lead them. Having missed out on signing Maninder Singh and Mohammadreza Shadloui, the Yoddhas were clear on signing Bharat.

It was the Telugu Titans who were the busiest team of the day started raising the paddle for the raider. UP Yoddhas were quick to join the race as they raised the bid amount past Rs 1 cr. The Titans tried their hard to keep the tall raider with them to serve as a secondary raider for Pawan. But the Yoddhas’ coach Jasveer Singh was clear.

The Yoddhas won the final bid for Rs 1.3cr and the Bengaluru Bulls decided against the FBM card. A move that was expected after the open criticism from coach Randhir Singh Sehrawat during season 10. Bharat will enjoy the responsibility of being the lead raider as he did with the Bulls in season nine.

The left-raider started his career with the Bengaluru Bulls in season eight. In 23 games he scored 115 points and served as a perfect fiddle to Pawan Sehrawat. When Pawan decided to part ways, coach Randhir was confident in doing well despite the absence of Pawan as he believed in himself that there were many players with huge talent and he could identify them.

Bharat was one such raider that Randhir Singh Sehrawat believed in. He was given the responsibility of the lead raider in season nine. The lanky raider used his height to cause many running hand touches to amass 279 points, which is the second most in the season. But season 10 saw the Bulls struggle for wins. During a game, Bharat’s decision to attack back-fired as they almost the game.

It left the coach fuming about the youngster and expressed it in the press conference. He was expected to be released ahead of the auction. The 23-year-old will now be under the vision of Jasveer Singh who will help him become a better player. The fans will be looking forward to see how the left raider perform along with Surender Gill for the team that has made it to the playoffs in five of the six seasons they have played.
