PKL 11: Captains of all teams for Pro Kabaddi League season 11

All the franchises have announced their captains for PKL 11.

The 11th edition of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 11) is set to kick off this week in Hyderabad. The latest edition of India’s premier Kabaddi League will feature 12 teams from all across the nation. The league is resuming after a gap of more than seven months and is bringing with it a lot of excitement and entertainment.

All the teams are gearing up in full swing for the upcoming season of the PKL and have made some interesting changes to their squads and their leadership roles. Only three teams have retained their skippers while the other nine teams have appointed a captain. Aslam Inamdar continues to lead the defending champions, while Pawan Sehrawat and Sagar Rathee will captain Telugu Titans and Tamil Thalaivas respectively. 

Ashu Malik and Naveen Kumar will both captain Dabang Delhi KC this season and Fazel Atrachali has been appointed as the new captain of the Bengal Warriorz in PKL 11. Dubki King Pardeep Narwal will lead the Bengaluru Bulls. Neeraj Kumar will captain the Gujarat Giants. Arjun Deshwal will take over the reins for the Jaipur Pink Panthers. 

Ahead of PKL 11, Jaideep Dahiya has been made the new captain of the Haryana Steelers. Patna Pirates have chosen new signing Shubham Shinde as their new leader. Sunil Kumar and Surender Gill will take charge of U Mumba and UP Yoddhas respectively.

List of all captains of PKL 11:

Bengal Warriorz – Fazel Atrachali

Fazel Atrachali has been brought in by the Bengal Warriorz to lead the side. The Iranian superstar brings in a bag full of experience under his wealth having played multiple PKL seasons. He has also won the best defender multiple times and will add solidity to the Warriors’ side.

Bengaluru Bulls – Pardeep Narwal

The Bulls have roped in the league’s most successful raider Pardeep Narwal as their new leader. Narwal is known for his superb raiding skills and his experience in the league. He has gathered 1699 points across 170 games. He returns to his former side where he made his debut back in 2015 and will hope to bring the Bulls back on track.

Dabang Delhi – Naveen Kumar Goyat and Ashu Malik

Dabang Delhi K.C. have appointed a leadership duo of Naveen Kumar and Ashu Malik for the upcoming season. Naveen played a crucial role in leading the side to their first-ever title and was appointed as the captain in the process. Naveen Express is one of the most dynamic raiders in the league and has gathered 1020 points so far.

Ashu Malik took over the captainship in the absence of Naveen last season and put up a good show. He was the league’s top scorer last season with 280 points to his name in 23 matches. He will be expected to continue the same momentum and form a formidable partnership with Naveen upfront.

Gujarat Giants – Neeraj Kumar

Neeraj Kumar has been handed over the captaincy by the management of the Gujarat Giants. He is one of the most prominent defenders in the league and is known for his heroics as a cover defender. He boasts a not out percentage of 88.64 % and a tackle success rate of 38%.

Haryana Steelers – Jaideep Dahiya

Haryana Steelers have made Jaideep Dahiya as their new captain for the upcoming season. Dahiya has played an instrumental role in the Steelers’ backline. He has made notable contributions as the left cover defender and recorded his best-ever numbers in the league with 69 points.

Jaipur Pink Panthers – Arjun Deshwal

Arjun Deshwal has been appointed as the new captain of the two-time champions. Deshwal has earned the captaincy after a series of consistent and impactful performances for the Pink Panthers. He has gathered 842 points in the last three editions and was the second-best raider in the league last season.

Patna Pirates – Shubham Shinde

Shubham Shinde takes charge as the new captain of the Patna Pirates for PKL 11. He is one of the most dependable defenders in the league and has the experience of playing over 100 PKL matches. He is the Pirates’ most expensive signing of the season and is expected to lead the side to their fourth league title.

Puneri Paltan – Aslam Mustafa Inamdar

Aslam Inamdar fueled Puneri Paltan to their first-ever PKL title and will be hoping for nothing less this time around. The talented all-rounder has been a fantastic captain for the defending champions and is known for his impact on either end of the mat. Moreover, he won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for his match-winning performances last season.

Tamil Thalaivas – Sagar Rathee

Tamil Thalaiva have not made any changes to their leadership as Sagar Rathee continues to lead the side. Sagar will not only lead the side but will also add defensive solidity for the Thalaivas. He is a prominent figure in the right cover positions and has scored 225 points over the last four seasons.

Telugu Titans – Pawan Sehrawat

Pawan Sehrawat has extended his stay with the Telugu Titans and will lead them onto the mat once again this season. The Indian skipper has a unique and dynamic raiding style that helps him get the better of defenders on most occasions. Sehrawat has 1254 points to his tally, the third highest in the history of the league.

U Mumba – Sunil Kumar

Sunil Kumar has been one of the best arrivals for U Mumba this season. The defender comes in on the back of a really good season with the Jaipur Pink Panthers and will be keen to go one step forward this season. He has been brought in for Rs 1.05 Crores by U Mumba making him the most expensive Indian defender in the history of the league and a lot will be expected of him this season.

UP Yoddhas – Surender Gill

Surender Gill has been handed over his leadership role by the UP Yoddhas for PKL 11. He has been a key figure of the Yoddhas over the years and is a deserving candidate to lead the side after the departure of Pardeep Narwal. Gill has scored 500 points for UP Yoddhas since his debut and will look to add more points to his tally.
