PKL 11: Joginder Narwal appointed as head coach of Dabang Delhi KC
Under his captaincy, Dabang Delhi lifted their maiden title.
Former Dabang Delhi KC player Joginder Narwal has been promoted to the head coach role of Dabang Delhi KC ahead of season 11 of the Pro Kabaddi League. He was the assistant coach of the franchise in the 2023-24 season after being on the field till season nine of the league. He has replaced the Dronacharya Award winner Rambhir Singh Khokhar.
Narwal brings a wealth of experience to the squad having played in the league since the second season of PKL. It was under his captaincy that Dabang Delhi claimed their only PKL title in 2018. He was with the Dabang Delhi KC for three seasons and had his best PKL years in the red and blue colors of the national capital city.
The left corner defender would like to repeat the story as the coach of the team as well. Under his captaincy, they laid a strategy of building a team with experienced defenders and young Raiders. In the season they lifted the trophy, they not only had Joginder’s experience but also the duo of Manjeet Chillar and Sandeep Narwal.
The Raiding was taken care of by Naveen Kumar and in season 10 they unleashed the champion in Ashu Malik. The success in season eight meant that they have continued to do so as they brought the likes of Vishal Bharadwaj in Season 10. With young defenders Yogesh Dahiya and Ashish in the team now, it will be interesting how they approach the Auction ahead of PKL 11.
