Haryana Steelers are coming into the game following three consecutive wins in PKL 11.

Following three consecutive wins, Haryana Steelers are set to face Bengal Warriorz in Pro Kabaddi League Season 11 (PKL 11).

Kabaddi is a sport that features people with quick reflexes to succeed. While for the raiders a mere flick of the shirt is enough to get a point, for the defenders they have to completely pin down a raider beyond any movement which is a huge task in itself.

Successful Kabaddi teams focus on building a strong defensive core, which we have seen over the years in the Pro Kabaddi League as well. The auction for PKL 11 saw two teams going big for the defenders. For last year’s finalists Haryana Steelers, their progress to the finals was gifted thanks to their defensive wall.

Manpreet Singh, the coach of the Haryana Steelers realized it and further strengthened it by going all guns for the Iranian sensation Mohammadreza Shadloui and they are reaping rewards as they are on a three-match winning streak. For Bengal Warriorz, they bought another Iranian, this time the experienced Fazel Atrahcalli.

They also had the fortune of seeing the hammer go down for Nitesh Kumar, a former captain of UP Yoddhas and the first-ever player to score 100 tackle points in a season. The addition of Mayur Kadam has been a stealth to their cover unit. These two defensive units will lock on against each other in a Sunday blockbuster with few battles within the war that could decide the way the match goes. Here are the top three battles

Fazel Atrachali vs Mohammadreza Shadloui

Fazel Atrachali and Mohammadreza Shadloui are the two ends of the Iranian Kabaddi unit. The former is experienced and the most successful in the league while the latter is a young cheetah who is waiting to pounce on any player who is coming in his way. These two have bought so much for the Iranian people in the last month.

They will be locking horns against each other trying to win a game of Kabaddi for their team in PKL 11. For Fazel, the skipper has taken the challenge of leading a side with superstars. He has been handling them well keeping the team’s interests ahead of the personal milestones. For Shadloui, the faith put forth by their coach is a burden he is looking to satisfy. These two will have more than a win to prove their class in the PKL 11 match.

Jaideep Dahiya vs Maninder Singh

Jaideep Dahiya has been synonymous with the Steelers’ defence in the last three years. The left cover has been the top defender for Haryana ever since he made his debut in season eight. He hasn’t started off well this PKL 11 season and he will be up against a player of a similar calibre from Bengal Warriorz. The Mighty Maninder Singh is playing his seventh year for Bengal Warriorz.

He has been the most successful player for the season seven champions. But an indifferent start to the season meant that the other two Raiders have taken the spotlight. Both will look to break the shackles and bring their best on the mat. But only one can succeed as both will be plotting the failure of each other. The battle of these old foxes will be one to watch out for in the PKL 11 game.

Nitesh Kumar vs Vinay

When Haryana Steelers announced their PKL 11 retention list, there were no surprises with Vinay staying with them having taken them to the finals. In the auction, they were expected to go big for a Raider but to the surprise of many, they spent big money on defenders putting all the faith for the raiding duties on Vinay and Co. He has started the PKL 11 season well with a Super 10.

He will have a huge challenge against Bengal Warriorz with Nitesh Kumar waiting to catch his ankle at the left corner. Nitesh, relieved of his captaincy duties from his previous franchise looks like a refreshed player focusing on scoring points in the defence. He has been aggressive which has made the right raiders think twice before going in for a toe touch or a bonus point. It will be interesting to see Vinay’s strategy for the night.
