PKL 11: Key battles to watch out for in match 37, Patna Pirates vs U Mumba
Patna Pirates will look for their fourth win in PKL 11 against U Mumba.
Three-time Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) champions Patna Pirates will take on U Mumba in match 37 of PKL 11 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. The Pirates are on fire having picked up two big margin wins in their last two encounters. Patna Pirates have jumped up to the sixth position on the points table and have won three of their last five games this season.
U Mumba on the other hand continue to struggle and have found it really hard to hit the ground running in PKL 11. They are placed in the lower half of the table with a lot of their players yet to regain their form. The former champions are currently relying heavily on luck and individual brilliance.

Ankit Jaglan vs Amirmohammad Zafardanesh
Ankit Jaglan has been in good form in PKL 11 for the Patna Pirates. He has dropped in notable all-round performances and will be expected to continue the same against U Mumba as well. Jaglan has scored 18 points this season while primarily operating in the backline. He will be responsible to keep a check on U Mumba’s man in the form of Amirmohammad Zafardanesh.
The Iranian all-rounder on the other hand has stood up to the occasion for U Mumba in PKL 11 and has produced some magical moments. Amirmohammad Zafardanesh has racked up 30 points in total for the former champions. He is a mainstay in the team and will be expected to put up a good show on either end of the mat and take this team over the line.
Shubham Shinde vs Ajit Chavan
Patna Pirates’ Shubham Shinde has scored the second-highest tackle points for his side in PKL 11. Shinde has been solid at the back and brings in a lot of experience and power in the backline. He will have the responsibility to keep a check on the U Mumba raiding unit, especially Ajit Ramesh who has been on fire this season. Expect him to bring his A-game to the table in the PKL 11 game.
Ajit Ramesh on the contrary has been firing on all cylinders for U Mumba. Even though a lot of players have not been performing, the young raider is among the top and most consistent performers for U Mumba this season. His quick and smart moves on the mat have earned him 38 points in five games in PKL 11.
Devank vs Rinku Sharma
Devank has been the surprise package of PKL 11 and has made everyone take note of him. The young gun has racked up 61 points, including 25 points in a single game this season. He is ranked in the top scorers’ list and is just six points behind the top spot. Devank’s ability to perform in high pressure situations and earn valuable points for his side will come in very handy for the Patna Pirates.
But, standing in his way will be Rinku Sharma who will do everything in his power to neutralize the danger possessed by the Pirates’ attacking lineup. Rinku has been U Mumba’s best performing defender in PKL 11 and has already racked up 12 tackle points in five games. He will be on red alert and is very unlikely to give anything to the Pirates.
