UP Yoddhas will look to snap their losing streak in PKL 11.

UP Yoddhas face Telugu Titans in Match 53 of Pro Kabaddi League 2024 (PKL 11) on 14th November at Noida Indoor Stadium.

The Yoddhas who started PKL 11 pretty well themselves, having won over Dabang Delhi and Bengaluru Bulls have since faltered woefully and lost five of their eight matches. Their latest setback left them going down to U Mumba by a slim two-point margin, leaving them stuck at the 10th position on the league table.

Telugu Titans, on the other hand, are riding high on three successive wins in PKL 11 which included a thrilling 34-33 victory over the defending champions, Puneri Paltan. The Titans have climbed up to sixth with five wins in eight games.

That being said let us take a look at the player battles that can decide the outcome of the PKL 11 game:

Gagan Gowda vs Sagar Sethpal Rawal

UP Yoddhas‘ raider Gagan Gowda has made quite an impact lately in PKL 11 and has shown impressive form since joining the starting lineup. In six matches he’s scored 26 raid points at an average of 4.63 points per game. What’s particularly eye-catching is his consistency as he managed to stay untagged in 66.66% of his raids with a solid success rate of 61.9%.

Meanwhile, defender Sagar Sethpal Rawal has been stepping up his game in recent PKL 11 matches. Playing in the right cover position he has collected 15 tackle points across 8 matches with an average of 1.87 successful tackles per match.

Hitesh vs Pawan Sehrawat

UP Yoddhas’ defender Hitesh has been in fine form recently and has piled up strong performances which prove he can shut down even the best raiders on his day. Playing in the right cover position, he’s racked up 18 points across 8 matches, including an impressive 4-point showing in his last PKL 11 game and his consistent play has earned him a regular spot on the team.

On the other side, Telugu Titans’ star raider Pawan Sehrawat has been dominating in PKL 11. The lanky, athletic Sehrawat has been a scoring machine and has piled up 88 raid points in just 8 matches which is about 11 points per game. What makes him especially dangerous is his ability to stay alive during raids, with a survival rate of 71.52%. Add to that his successful raid rate of 61.11% and you’ve got a player who’s giving defenders nightmares.

Bharat Hooda vs Vijay Malik

Bharat Hooda has been phenomenal for the UP Yoddhas this season in PKL 11 and has been impressive on raids. All Rounder has collected 64 raid points at an average of 8 raid points per match which includes 5 super raids and 4 Super 10s and he has also collected 5 tackle points.

Hooda was also the highest scorer for Yoddhas in their last match against U Mumba which saw him collecting 11 points. It will be interesting to see if he can continue his form against the Titans as well.

In the battle of all-rounders, Telugu Titans’ Vijay Malik will look to make his mark as well. Malik has shown impressive form off late and is coming off a match-defining 13 points against red-hot Puneri Paltan. Malik will be key to the Telugu Titans’ chances in this match.
