PKL 11: Key player battles to watch out for in match 88, Bengal Warriorz vs Patna Pirates

The last time these two teams went against each other in PKL 11, Patna defeated Bengal.

Bengal Warriorz will face three-time champions Patna Pirates for the second time in match 88 of Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) at the Noida Indoor Stadium.

Warriorz have had a tough season so far and have struggled to keep up with the pace of their counterparts. Fazel Atrachali-led outfit have lost eight matches in PKL 11, including five back-to-back defeats. On the other hand, Patna Pirates also seem to have lost track. They enjoyed a good run of form for the majority of the season, but have failed to secure victories in three of their last five games.

Fazel Atrachali vs Devank

Fazel Atrachali has ruled the charts for the Bengal Warriorz this season. He has performed like a true leader at the back and has kept this very subtle. His strong leadership abilities coupled with his defensive attributes have come in very handy for the Warriorz. The Iranian defender has already racked up 38 tackle points and will be assigned the task of keeping a check on Devank.

Devank on the other hand has been the best raider in the league so far. He is leading the charts with 164 raid points and has troubled every defender has played against. The young raider has scored a Super 10 in nine out of 13 games this season. But, he will need to be at the top of his game against the Warriorz, especially against Fazel Atrachali.

Nitin Kumar vs Ankit Jaglan

Nitin Kumar has been the most impactful offensive player for the Bengal Warriorz this season. He has led the line with perfection and has scored crucial points. Kumar has scored 112 raid points with a strike rate of nearly 50%. Nitin’s ability to score crucial points and add depth to his side’s attacking unit makes him a special player. The right raider will be the biggest attacking threat for the Patna Pirates.

But, standing in his way will be Ankit Jaglan who has displayed a defensive masterclass for the Pirates this season. He has been their best defender and has taken down multiple raiders to win crucial battles and points for his side. Jaglan has scored 41 tackle points with a strike rate of 53%. His solidity at the back has contributed heavily to Patna’s success this season.

Ayan Lohchab vs Nitesh Kumar

Ayan Lohchab has emerged as the perfect support raider for the Patna Pirates. His performances are better than some of the lead raiders in the league. He has been a consistent performer for the Pirates and has helped them secure multiple winning points this season. Lohchab has already scored 100 raid points and has also formed a lethal partnership with Devank up front.

Nitesh Kumar will have the task of keeping a check on Ayan and not allowing him many opportunities to hurt his side. The defender has enjoyed a good run of form this season and has established himself as one of the key figures in the Warriorz setup. He has scored 27 tackle points, including six points in the last game, and is the Warriorz’s second top-scoring defender.
