Earlier in PKL 11, Gujarat Giants defeated Bengaluru Bulls.

Bengaluru Bulls will play Gujarat Giants in the first match of the Pune leg of the Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) Season 11. The two teams lie at the bottom of the league table with Gujarat Giants having 10 more points than Bengaluru Bulls. Bengaluru Bulls have just two wins from their 15 matches, thus scoring a meagre 16 points whereas Gujarat Giants have four wins from 14 matches.

The average raid points and the average tackle points for the two teams per match this season as very comparable with very little separating the two. While Bengaluru Bulls have a slightly better raiding output, Gujarat Giants boast better numbers through tackles made by their defence. Let’s take a look at the key battles between the two teams that could decide the fate of the PKL 11 match on Tuesday.

Pardeep Narwal vs Himanshu

Despite playing less than 60% of the total matches for the Bulls this season, the record-breaker Pardeep Narwal continues to be their top scorer through raids in PKL 11. Randhir Sehrawat put his faith in the young guns earlier in the season before finally being forced to turn towards the experience of his star raider.

Himanshu has contributed to the Giants through his raiding and tackling abilities this season. At one point in the season, when no one, including Guman Singh, played well, Himanshu scored Super 10s. Now, with Guman and Parteek slowly finding their form back, Himanshu has taken a step back from the raiding duties and started contributing through his tackles in PKL 11. He is also an efficient bonus points collector.

Nitin Rawal vs Guman Singh

While the entire Bengaluru Bulls team has looked a tier below the others, Nitin Rawal continues to shine the brightest of all the defenders in the league this season. He has the most tackle points, most super tackles and second most High 5s in PKL 11.

Guman Singh scored 16 points in the loss to Puneri Paltan out of the team’s total of 33. That is nearly 50% of the contribution from the former U Mumba raider. The Giants continue to depend a lot on the raider to keep the scoreboard ticking in PKL 11.

Jai Bhagwan vs Himanshu

Jai Bhagwan has been given the most opportunities of all the Bulls’ raiders this season in PKL 11. Randhir Sehrawat continues to trust the youngster, whom he sees as the next big thing in the league. Although Jai Bhagwan has struggled for consistency, he would continue to be a threat with Pardeep Narwal backing him up.

Himanshu has the most tackles of all the defenders of Gujarat Giants in the previous two matches in PKL 11. Ram Mehar Singh continues to try many different combinations in his defence as the Giants continue to ride on their recent upturn in form.
