PKL 11: Key player battles to watch out for in match 90, U Mumba vs Puneri Paltan

Puneri Paltan now sit at the fifth spot in the PKL 11 points table while U Mumba have dropped to seventh.

Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) is all set to unveil its final leg in Pune as we near the business end. Puneri Paltan will begin their home leg with a clash against their neighbours U Mumba with the clear intentions of securing nothing less than a win.

U Mumba on the other hand will be searching for consistency coming into this match. Both teams are placed near each other on the table and will look to avoid any slip-ups at this stage in PKL 11. Ajit Chouhan vs Gaurav Khatri

Ajit Chouhan has been firing on all cylinders for U Mumba this season. He is their leader at the top and has exceeded all the expectations and hype. His strong offensive prowess coupled with his aggressive style of play makes him a tough opposition to deal with. Ajit has already racked up 115 points in 14 matches in PKL 11 and will be looking to add more points to his tally in the upcoming match.

But, standing in his way will be Puneri Paltan’s defensive stalwart Gaurav Khatri. The right corner defender has been one of the standout defenders in the league this season and has already scored 47 tackle points PKL 11, including four high 5s. His ability to bring down the best of raiders and lead the troops from the back makes him an important part of the defending champions.

Pankaj Mohite vs Rinku Sharma 

Pankaj Mohite has stood up to the occasion perfectly and has shouldered the raiding and leadership duties with perfection. The raider has emerged as a worthy leader in the absence of Aslam Inamdar and his leadership duties have had a positive impact on his gameplay as well.

Rinku Sharma on the other hand will be assigned the task to keep a check on him. The defender will be keen to neutralize the danger that his counterpart will bring to the table. The right-corner defender will look to capitalize on his defensive skills and keep a check on Puneri Paltan’s attacking unit. He has scored 32 tackle points PKL 11, the joint highest for U Mumba. 

Mohit Goyat vs Sunil Kumar

Mohit Goyat is Puneri Paltan’s top scorer this season with 81 points. He contributes in both attack and defense and is therefore one of the most important pieces of the puzzle for the defending champions. His offensive acumen combined with his versatility is what makes him a standout player for Pune. Goyat will need to step up and take ownership if Puneri Paltan are to defend their crown.

Sunil Kumar on the contrary has led his side as an example. His top defensive performances and leadership skills have come in very handy for U Mumba. Kumar has already scored 32 tackle points PKL 11 and is his side’s joint-highest scorer for his side. He will have the task to get the better of Pune’s attacking lineup and keep them at bay.
