PKL 11: Key battles to watch out for in match 69, Tamil Thalaivas vs UP Yoddhas

UP Yoddhas have been undefeated in the last two PKL 11 matches.

Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) awaits an enthralling weekend starting off with two teams in the bottom half of the points table. The Tamil Thalaivas will be up against UP Yoddhas. The latter will have the home advantage as the second leg of the season is happening at the Noida Indoor Stadium in Noida.

The team coached by Jasveer Singh badly want to use the advantage as they have been struggling to together a string of wins in the last few matches. Having won three of the first four PKL 11 games, they succumbed to four consecutive losses which pushed them down in the points table. They would want to register few wins and not better than doing it at home.

They will be up against Tamil Thalaivas who are running in parallel to the Yoddhas. From the top of the points table to the bottom half, the men in yellow have seen it all. They would want to use this experience and get back to winning games. They have a huge week starting against Yoddhas and a win would boost their confidence. Bharat Hooda vs Nitesh Kumar

When UP Yoddhas had to let go of Pradeep in the auction, the fans were looking forward to their replacement in PKL 11. The tall lanky, former Bulls player in Bharat Hooda was hired by Jasveer Singh. Bharat has settled in the jersey of red and blue, playing with flair which is a joy to watch. The start wasn’t easy as he couldn’t score a single point in his debut match for Yoddhas.

But it was a one-off performance as he has been contributing to the wins of the Yoddhas in PKL 11. He will be up against another youngster who has come up the ranks. Nitesh Kumar has been a revelation for Thalaivas this season in defence, overshadowing the likes of Sahil Gulia, Sagar and Abhishek. If would be key to stop Bharat in the home terrain. Thalaivas would want Nitesh to win this battle to neutralize the home advantage.

Narender Kandola vs Sumit Sangwan

There is always a sense of expectation when Narender Kandola plays. The hand touches, the escapes from the double thigh hold and of course the Dubki, might be a resemblance to someone but his unique way to doing it has given happiness to the fans and a horrible time to the defenders. Although he might not be in top form coming into this PKL 11 game, he will be a threat to Yoddhas.

The home team will look to negate the Dubki Prince with the experienced Sumit Sangwan who has been rock solid for the franchise at the left corner. These two have a history as when both teams faced each other in the eliminator of season nine, Thalaivas won the game in a tiebreaker. Narender was the top-scoring raider and Sumit was the top-scoring defender with the former getting the better of the latter.

Amirhossein Bastami vs Bhavani Rajput

Tamil Thalaivas suffered a body blow in PKL 11 when their skipper Sagar Rathee was injured and ruled out of the season in their first game. The Thalaivas still were able to put a few wins thanks to Amirhossein Bastami, who has done really well this season. The Iranian has brought the power factor into play and has executed a few quality backholds.

His challenger for the night will be Bhavani Rajput, a former Tamil Thalaivas player. Bhavani has played the perfect fiddle to Bharat to keep the scoreboard ticking. If the Thalaivas could keep him in the bench then they will cut down the scoring rate of the home team. Bhavani is high on confidence with his performances so far and would like to continue his form against Thalaivas as well.
