Telugu Titans will take on Tamil Thalaivas in the second match of their PKL 11 campaign.

The upcoming clash between the Telugu Titans and Tamil Thalaivas in PKL 11 at Hyderabad’s Gachibowli Stadium on 19th October is shaping up to be a blockbuster showdown. As two fierce southern rivals collide, all eyes will be on some key player battles that could define the outcome of this eagerly anticipated contest.

The PKL 11 encounter will see some of the league’s most impactful players locking horns in what promises to be a thrilling night of kabaddi action. Let’s take a look at the top 3 key player battles that will decide the outcome of the game.

Pawan Sehrawat vs Sahil Gulia

Pawan Sehrawat, the retained skipper of Telugu Titans, will be the centerpiece of their attack. Known for his explosive raiding and remarkable speed, Sehrawat has firmly established himself as one of the league’s top raiders.

With 1,254 points in 126 games, including an impressive 217 points in just 21 matches last season, he is a player who can turn the tide of any game with his brilliance on the mat. Telugu Titans will rely heavily on him to breach the Thalaivas’ defence and lead them to victory.

However, standing in his way will be Tamil Thalaivas’ defensive stalwart and vice-captain Sahil Gulia. The left-corner defender had a fantastic Season 10, where he amassed 69 tackle points across 22 matches, delivering consistent performances for his team.

Gulia’s ability to execute Super Tackles and High 5s makes him a formidable opponent, especially against someone like Pawan. His average of 3.14 successful tackles per match shows that he’s not just a one-hit wonder, but a player capable of stifling the best raiders.

Krishan Dhull vs Sachin

Krishan Dhull, Telugu Titans’ prized recruit for PKL 11, has a lot to prove. He was the second-highest scorer in tackle points last season with 78 to his name, and his ability to deliver under pressure makes him the backbone of the Titans’ defence.

As a right-corner specialist, Dhull will have the task of stopping Tamil Thalaivas’ Sachin, one of the most expensive players in Pro Kabaddi League history.

Sachin, now the vice-captain of the Thalaivas, earned his hefty price tag with stellar performances, leading Patna Pirates to the semifinals in PKL 10. Known for his do-or-die raids, Sachin thrives in high-pressure situations, and with the support of his new team, he will look to make a big impact in PKL 11.

Dhull’s challenge will be to contain Sachin, especially during those critical moments when the game hangs in the balance. If he can neutralize Sachin’s raids, it could swing the momentum in favour of the Titans.

Amir Hossein vs Manjeet

Iranian defender Amirhossein Bastami has been a revelation in the PKL. Retained by Tamil Thalaivas for his defensive prowess, Bastami has consistently delivered top-notch performances.

With 46 total points across 31 matches, his presence in the Thalaivas’ backline will be critical as they look to halt the Titans’ raiders. His solid tackling ability and tactical acumen make him a tough defender to overcome.

Manjeet, Telugu Titans’ new recruit, has been brought in to ease the burden on captain Pawan Sehrawat. As an all-rounder with a proven track record from his days with Dabang Delhi, Manjeet will be looking to make a mark in PKL 11.

His partnership with Sehrawat could be key to unlocking Tamil Thalaivas’ defence, and if he can get past Amir Hossein, the Titans could finally get the support they need in the raiding department.
