On three consecutive losses in PKL 11

The game got off to an energetic start as both teams traded points in the early exchanges. However, the UP Yoddhas quickly found their rhythm, with Bharat and Surender Gill spearheading their attack. By the end of the first phase, the Yoddhas had built a solid 9-point lead, with Bharat already racking up 7 points as he dominated the mat for his team. This was their third consecutive loss in PKL 11.

“The defence is zero. The team gave away so many to UP Yoddhas. They knew all the players, Surender, Nitin Rawal, they are the senior players they knew all about UP players but still they made these mistakes, ” said coach Randhir Singh.

“I always told them that win or loss didn’t matter, we have a lot of matches, but I didn’t think they would play this badly. I should not have given them this much liberty, now I will have to tighten the grip as well. I have nothing to say about the offence. They played well, but the defence is zero, ” he added.

On the poor performance by defence and his 16 points

From there, the UP Yoddhas continued to tighten their grip on the game, with Bharat and captain Surender Gill causing major problems for the Bengaluru Bulls.

Bharat inflicted an ALL OUT on the Bulls, further solidifying the Yoddhas’ advantage. By halftime, both Bharat and Gill had completed their Super 10s, propelling the Yoddhas to a commanding 33-15 lead. In the second half, Pardeep Narwal tried to inspire a comeback for the Bulls with a Super Raid, but the Yoddhas remained in full control.

“See it is not about my 16 points. It makes no sense to gain 16 points if the team plays this poorly. The defence has to make sure that this is not repeated. Now the coach has to make some decisions to make them understand that and rectify the mistakes,” lamented Pardeep.

On facing Fazel Atrachali-led Bengal Warriorz next in PKL 11

In the end, the Yoddhas claimed an emphatic win, notching up the highest points tally by a team in a single match this season. Now they go on to face Bengal Warriorz in PKL 11.

“Bengal Warriorz is a good team. They have Fazel, Maninder, Nitesh. So we have to come fully prepared for the team. We are motivated by these two wins and we will look to win that match as well, ” Surinder Gill concluded.
