On U Mumba’s road ahead in PKL 11
Guman Singh’s Super 10 and Rakesh’s 10 points, including two Tackle Points, set the tone for the Giants. However, it was Rohit’s High 5, especially his game-clinching tackles in the final minutes, that sealed the narrow win. Ajit Chouhan’s 14-point effort for U Mumba went in vain.
“I think winning and losing is a part of the game. Sometimes your planning fails, but this one game. We will focus on the next match which is very different and come up with a different performance, ” said U Mumba coach.
“Now our focus is the playoffs but we have to win two matches, so my focus is on that first, ” he added.
On Rohit’s performance in the win over U Mumba
The first half was evenly contested, with both teams trading points. Guman Singh’s early raids and Ajit Chouhan’s consistency kept the game close. A late surge by the Gujarat Giants, including Rakesh’s Super Tackle, gave them a slender 16-15 lead at halftime.
U Mumba responded with an ALL OUT just minutes into the second half, fueled by Ajit’s sharp raids. But the Giants roared back, with Guman Singh delivering in crucial moments. Rohit’s ankle hold in the dying seconds on a Do-or-Die raid by Manjeet secured the win.
“Rohit is a good player, he doesn’t have a lot of experience but skill wise he has calibre and also his weight is an issue, but today he stepped up in the key matches. Whenever we need him, he does his best, ” concluded the Gujarat Giants coach.
