On Haryana Steeler’s qualification for PKL 11 playoffs
It was a stellar team effort as Vinay and Shivam Patare contributed a combined 15 points, while Jaideep and Rahul delivered solid defensive performances with four tackle points each. Mohammadreza Shadloui capped off the night with six crucial points, ensuring a comprehensive win for the Steelers.
“We are very happy to have qualified, now we want to stay at the top of the table only so that we go on to play the semifinals directly and finally take home the trophy this time, ” said Haryana Steelers captain Jaideep Dahiya.
“Now we will focus on the little mistakes we have made, that coach has told us, so we want to rectify them and get better,” he added.
On the road ahead in PKL 11
The match began cautiously, with raiders from both sides taking time to settle in. Haryana Steelers’s defenders, led by Sanjay and Rahul, ensured their team edged ahead with a slim 7-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. Shadloui then delivered a key tackle to increase the margin, and Vinay’s brilliant Super Raid eliminated three opponents, giving the Steelers a decisive edge.
“It has been 19 matches and I don’t even know my team, at times they play like champions and at times they don’t. I have been in PKL for seven seasons and this will be my fourth final if we qualify,” said Haryana Steelers coach Manpreet Singh.
“We lost in the final last time, so the whole year worked on our shortcomings and now you can see the result. Right now neither me nor my team will think about the trophy. We have the semifinals first and then we will think about the final” he concluded.
On Bengaluru Bull’s poor performance in PKL 11
In the second half, Haryana maintained control, eventually inflicting an ALL OUT to stretch their lead to nine points. Despite a late effort from Bengaluru Bulls‘ Parteek and Sushil, the Steelers’ balanced approach saw them close out the game comfortably.
For Bengaluru Bulls, Jatin’s spirited raids, including a milestone 4000 raid points in PKL 11, stood out. Despite being out of playoff contention, their determination was evident, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Haryana’s dominance.
“This is Kabaddi. There is no one strong or weak. They have Pro Kabaddi League’s superstar Pardeep and PKL 11’s star defender Nitin Rawal. They have Ajinkya Pawar. So that team is not weak at all. Maybe they didn’t click together but individually they are a great team, and for me, the fact that my team beat a team with Pardeep and Nitin, it is a huge thing, ” added Manpreet.
