On Naveen Kumar’s performance
The victory propelled Delhi to second place on the points table, keeping their playoff ambitions on track. Naveen Kumar delivered yet another Super 10 performance, while Ashu Malik contributed nine points in a tightly contested match that held significant playoff implications.
“The team’s win is more important and I would do anything for that. We are going through a crucial time where every result, every win is important, so winning today was very important for us and the competition is giving us confidence too, ” said Naveen Kumar.
On Pawan Sehrawat’s return to PKL 11
The game began with both teams trading early blows. Vijay Malik opened the scoring for the Titans, while Pawan Sehrawat who returned after missing out on nine matches, made an immediate impact for his team.
“I feel a lot better now returning after 28 days. The team has done really well in my absence, ” added Pawan Sehrawat who returned following an injury.
“Pawan’s performance taking into consideration that he has returned from injury was good, he did make a few mistakes but it was a good performance, ” added the Telugu Titans coach.
Ashu Malik’s two-point raid set the tone for Delhi, as the first half saw both sides going neck and neck. An all-out inflicted by Telugu Titans, led by Mohit, helped them take a four-point lead into halftime at 17-13.
On PKL 11 Playoffs
However, Dabang Delhi K.C. turned the tide in the second half. They levelled the score with an all-out and fought back after falling behind briefly. Naveen Kumar’s Super 10 proved decisive in the final moments, helping Delhi close out the match.
“Our defence is a little shaky right now, Sagar, Ankit, and Krishan are not in their form, but this is the same defence that has won us matches and losing one or two matches won’t matter a lot and the league is not ending with this loss, ” said Pawan Sehrawat who returned following an injury.
“It is a tough season, we are still in the top six. Haryana Steelers have played very well and five-six more teams are also in contention for the spot and I think it will take the last day of the league to decide who will be the fifth and sixth team for the PKL 11 playoffs, added Pawan.
