Both the teams have already qualified for PKL 11 playoffs.

In a nail-biting clash between two top teams of Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11), Dabang Delhi K.C. edged past Jaipur Pink Panthers 33-31 at the Badminton Hall in the Balewadi Sports Complex.

On Dabang Delhi’s unbeaten run in PKL 11

Ashu Malik led the charge with his 17th Super 10 of the season, ensuring Dabang Delhi moved back to third in the points table while extending their remarkable unbeaten streak to 14 matches in PKL 11. This historic run also saw them equal Puneri Paltan’s record for the longest unbeaten streak spanning two seasons.

“The team did well. If we win the next match we have a chance of going to the top two as well- we will try. The players are totally fit so we will try,” said Delhi coach Joginder Narwal.

“Records are meant to be broken. it is good that the record is made, but we never thought that something like this would happen. We played to win, and we will play to win and records will keep on being made. If we want to become champions, we have to win the (next) three matches – there is no doubt about it. This is a do-or-die fight,” added captain Naveen Kumar.

The match began with both sides exchanging points evenly, but Delhi seized momentum in the sixth minute with a decisive ALL OUT led by Ashu Malik. Naveen Kumar and Ashu continued to pile pressure on Jaipur, keeping their lead intact at halftime.

On referee’s decision and impact on PKL 11 playoffs

In the second half, Jaipur Pink Panthers mounted a spirited comeback, with Arjun Deshwal leading the charge. A crucial ALL OUT leveled the scores with just five minutes remaining. However, Ashu Malik’s swift running hand touch and Yogesh’s timely tackle helped Delhi regain control. Despite a last-second effort from Deshwal, Jaipur fell short, sealing a narrow victory for Dabang Delhi K.C. and further solidifying their dominance in PKL 11.

“We are getting four good days of rest for the playoff – for practice, for fitness, for relaxation. We could have won this match easily if we had gotten a point at the end – it was due to the referee, and we did not have the review. Both teams played well in this match. This will not have an impact on the playoffs – we will play well there,” concluded the Jaipur Pink Panther coach.
