On the 14-point win in PKL 11
The PKL 11 game saw the Patna Pirates set a strong pace, with Ayan earning the first point of the game, giving his team an early edge. Dabang Delhi K.C. stayed close initially, with Ashu Malik leading their efforts. However, as the first half progressed, the Pirates started to widen the gap with strong performances from Ayan, Devank, and Sandeep. By half-time, PKL 11’s three-time champions held a solid 21-13 lead.
“The team played well, the combination that I wanted to see in the team, I could finally see it. The team played really well, they played according to the plan we made and they had two super raids as well, ” said Patna Pirates coach.
“Shubham made the plan, we had a great left-right combination. Ankit played very well, so yeah this win feels very good. I finally got to see the performance from the team, and I wanted to see, what they were capable of. Our team has finally gained the momentum they needed,” he added.
On facing UP Yoddhas next in PKL 11
In the second half of this PKL 11 showdown, Dabang Delhi K.C. briefly gained momentum with a quick 3-point surge from Ashu Malik, but the Pirates soon re-established control. They will now go on to face UP Yoddhas next in PKL 11 on November 2nd.
“Like I said, all teams are good. As we planned for Delhi and Ashu, we will do the same for UP Yoddhas and I have a lot of faith in my players,” said Patna coach
“In PKL every team comes with a different challenge. If our combination is set and our defence does well, then we can play in that match too, even better than we played today,” added captain Shubham Shinde.
On the third consecutive loss in PKL 11
Despite Delhi landing an ALL-OUT at the 30-minute mark, Patna maintained their dominance in PKL 11, with both Ayan and Devank achieving Super 10s. The Pirates extended their lead to 13 points with five minutes left, cruising to a decisive PKL 11 victory.
“We made some mistake that cost us the match. We have two days break to look into them and rectify them before we play our next match,” Delhi coach concluded.
