On the second consecutive win PKL 11
Ajit Chavan’s explosive start set the tone, giving U Mumba the initial edge as the Jaipur Pink Panthers took some time to settle into the game. Despite Jaipur’s Neeraj Narwal and Vikash Kandola rallying to equalize by the 10-minute mark, U Mumba’s consistent play enabled them to inflict an ALL-OUT on Jaipur around the 12th minute, creating a comfortable lead. U Mumba maintained control, leading 19-16 at halftime.
“Today the team played well. Rinku, Sombir, and Parvesh played very well. Ajit played so well. All our plans were successful. We had two super raids which won us the match. We wanted to keep Arjun contained and we were successful in that. To win against Jaipur you have to hold Arjun,” captain Sunil Kumar added.
On Ajit Chavan’s performance
In the second half, Jaipur Pink Panthers fought back with a robust defensive approach, reducing the deficit to one point and eventually securing an ALL OUT through Lucky Sharma. This lifted Jaipur into a narrow lead. The match remained tight as the score stood level at 27-27 at the half-hour mark.
Ajit Chavan, along with Jaipur’s Narwal and Arjun Deshwal, kept the scoreboard ticking as the two teams fought tooth and nail.
“The coach and captain told me to play without pressure and enjoy the game. They showed and rectified my mistakes so I went and did the same thing on the match,” shared Ajit.
We are here to fight says U Mumba coach
U Mumba will now go on to face defending champions Puneri Paltan in PKL 11 on November 3rd.
“For me every match is tough. Everyone thought Bengaluru might be easy but they won too. So no match is easy, but we are a good team and we are here to fight for the trophy,” said the coach.
