PKL 11: Points does not matter for Maninder Singh, says Bengal Warriorz captain Fazel Atrachali
Bengal Warriorz will face Dabang Delhi in the PKL 11 on November 7th.
The Bengal Warriorz staged a thrilling comeback in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 11) to secure a narrow 40-38 victory over the Haryana Steelers at the GMCB Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday.

With Maninder Singh leading the charge with 12 points and Fazel Atrachali contributing 4 points, the Warriorz successfully overpowered a resilient Haryana Steelers side. Vinay and Mohammadreza Shadloui delivered strong performances for the Steelers, scoring 10 and 9 points, respectively, in a closely contested PKL 11 match.
“I mean look at Manii’s consistency for 10 years now. Now players come, play for 1-2 years and are done, but he has been performing. When we hit the gym, he works harder than anyone else. He is always trying to make himself better and give his best. Most players play for the point but he plays for the team,” said captain Fazel Atrachali speaking on the same.
The game began with the Haryana Steelers in control, quickly establishing a 6-point lead as their defence contained Maninder Singh and Sushil Kambrekar. However, midway through the first half, Fazel’s Super Tackle provided a spark for the Bengal Warriorz, who gradually levelled the score. Bengal Warriorz will now go to face Dabang Delhi in the PKL 11 on November 7th.
“Every match is different and important for us, maybe Delhi didn’t play well the last few matches but it is not about them, If we play well, it will be easy for us,” concluded Fazel.
With just 4 minutes left in half, Mayur Kadam’s ALL OUT on the Steelers gave the Warriorz their first lead, and the halftime score stood at 19-19.
In the second half, the Bengal Warriorz gained momentum, with Maninder and Fazel driving them forward. Maninder completed his first Super 10 of PKL 11, helping the Warriorz take a 6-point advantage. Despite a late push by the Steelers, Praveen Thakur’s ALL OUT solidified the Warriorz’s lead, sealing a memorable PKL 11 victory.
“When two teams play out such a close match, with such a small margin, its win for the sport and the Pro Kabaddi League. So I am not disappointed, next match we are gonna play better and win it, ” said Haryana Steelers coach Manpreet Singh.
Later, they will now go to face Gujarat Giants in PKL 11 on November 7 itself.
“Our next match is against Gujarat. Guman is a great player, so the mistakes we made here, we have to make sure we dont repeat the same against Gujarat Giants, ” concluded captain Jaideep Dahiya.
