On the stellar win in PKL 11
Akash Shinde led the way with 11 points, while defenders Abinesh Nadarajan, Gaurav Khatri, and Aman each achieved a High 5, showcasing Puneri Paltan’s defensive strength in PKL 11.
“In our team all the players are stars. If one player has a bad day, others are ready to step for them. Akash [Shinde] has not played for a while, but when he came on today, he showed what he is capable of,” said Puneri Paltan coach.
On Aslam’s absence
Right from the start, the Puneri Paltan took control, landing an early ALL OUT within the first five minutes through Abinesh Nadarajan. By the midpoint of the first half, Puneri Paltan had a strong nine-point lead. Paltan were without captain Aslam Inamdar who was handed a rest day by the coach.
“Aslam [Inamdar] is not injured, its just we rested him for sometime. His physio said he should get some rest,” revealed the coach.
On facing Telugu Titans next in PKL 11
They will next go on to face Pawan Sehrawat-led Telugu Titans in the PKL 11 on November 9th at the Gachibowli Stadium.
“They are a great team. Pawan is an outstanding player who is getting better with age. But our team can play even better than they played today, so it will be a good match,” the coach concluded.
By halftime, they had extended this advantage to 30-9. Despite a spirited effort from Guman Singh, who stood out for Gujarat Giants with 13 points, the Giants couldn’t close the gap.
On facing Haryana Steelers next in PKL 11
In the second half, Puneri Paltan continued to dominate, securing another ALL OUT and building a comfortable 25-point lead by the 30th minute. Though the Gujarat Giants had a late ALL OUT and a few positive plays, it was not enough to threaten Paltan’s stronghold.
The Puneri Paltan’s emphatic win underscored their strength and momentum as they aim to build on their PKL 11 campaign. Gujarat Giants will now face last season’s runners-up Haryana Steelers next on November 7.
“It will be a tough match, we will take a look at our mistakes and rectify them before coming onto the game,” concluded captain Neeraj Kumar.
