PKL 11: We will use Manpreet's strategy against Haryana Steelers, says U Mumba captain Sunil Kumar
U Mumba are currently second in the PKL 11 points table.
In a thrilling opener to the Noida leg of Pro Kabaddi League season 11 (PKL 11), U Mumba edged past the home side UP Yoddhas with a close 35-33 victory at the Noida Indoor Stadium on Sunday.
Speaking to the media, UP Yoddhas coach, and captain Sumit Sangwan followed by U Mumba coach and captain Sunil Kumar shared their thoughts on the PKL 11 match.

Ajit Chouhan and Rohit Raghav each scored 8 points for U Mumba, overcoming Bharat Hooda’s Super 10 for the Yoddhas.
UP Yoddhas started strong, combining offensive and defensive efforts to inflict an early ALL OUT on U Mumba in the 14th minute, with standout performances from Shivam Choudhary and Bharat Hooda, supported by stand-in captain Sumit.
On facing Haryana Steelers next in PKL 11
U Mumba, however, fought back to close the gap, inflicting an ALL OUT on UP Yoddhas and ending the first half narrowly behind at 17-16. They will now go to face Haryana Steelers next in PKL 11.
“Haryana Steelers is a very good team. The mistakes that we are making against other teams, the small ones, we can’t repeat them against Haryana, ” said captain Sunil Kumar.
“We have played with coach Manpreet Singh for a long time, Parvesh and I will play the way we were taught, take his blessings and will try to win the game, ” Sunil added.
On Surender Gill’s absence
The second half saw U Mumba’s raiders and captain Sunil Kumar’s defensive unit step up. Though UP Yoddhas earned another ALL OUT on U Mumba, However, they were without captain Surender Gill.
“He was not match fit for this match, but I hope he will be back for the next match,” said UP Yoddhas coach.
On going up against Telugu Titans next in PKL 11
Ajit Chouhan and Rohit Raghav’s timely raids in the final moments led to a crucial ALL OUT on UP Yoddhas, sealing the win for U Mumba, the PKL season 2 champions. UP Yoddhas will now go on to face Telugu Titans in PKL 11.
“This was our fourth loss in PKL 11 and we need to win all the matches coming forward to get our momentum back. Telugu Titans is a good team so we have to prepare well” concluded the UP Yoddhas coach.
