On the stellar win in PKL 11

Mohammadreza Shadloui, Shivam Patare, and Vishal Tate delivered a complete performance that powered Haryana to victory in PKL 11, even as Ajit Chavan shined for U Mumba with an impressive 18 points.

“Our strong point is both our defence and offence. All our players are playing well, and bringing in points, so I think they will continue this performance and bring more wins,” said captain Jaideep Dahiya.

“I think our defence played better than U Mumba’s hence we won, ” said coach Manpreet.

On playing with young raiders instead of big names

Despite being known for their defences, both teams’ raiders took the spotlight early. Ajit Chavan opened with a two-point raid, forcing Mohammadreza Shadloui off the mat, while Shivam Patare responded with a two-point raid that gave the Haryana Steelers a brief lead.

“Like I was asked yesterday about Shivam and Vishal and why I wasn’t playing them. Today I needed them and I brought them in and they did a pretty good job,” said the coach.

“The funny part is we broke the myth, the raiders that cost a lot, we did not go for them, we went for young raiders who are doing very well. We already have Shadloui, Rahul, and Jaideep to teach them the things,” added the coach.

On youngsters and their performance in PKL 11

Ajit’s brilliance continued with a Super Raid, putting U Mumba ahead and inflicting an early ALL OUT on Haryana.

In the second half, Ajit and Shivam Patare’s raiding duel reached a peak as both completed their Super 10s. Haryana took control with an ALL OUT that helped them secure a five-point lead.

“These players come with experience and the youngsters are learning from them, they are all my favourites and I hope they get the limelight and credits they deserve. Not only the youngsters in my team but in PKL as well, I wish all the very best for them,” he concluded.

Despite Ajit’s heroic efforts, Haryana’s defence held firm as Vishal Tate sealed the win with his own Super 10, giving the Steelers an impressive victory in PKL 11.
