On Prateek Dahiya’s performance against Delhi
Prateek Dahiya emerged as the star for the Gujarat Giants, scoring an incredible 20 points off the bench, while Ashu Malik shone for Dabang Delhi K.C. with yet another Super 10 in a game that swung back and forth till the final moments.
“Prateek was a little injured so we made him start from the bench itself. We were taking the precaution, that we would only play him if it’s absolutely required. So we needed him in that situation and he did his very best, ” said Gujarat coach Ram Mehar Singh.
On facing Telugu Titans next in PKL 11
Dabang Delhi K.C. began strongly, racing to a nine-point lead with Naveen Kumar and Ashu Malik dominating the raids. However, a strategic substitution by Gujarat Giants in the 6th minute, bringing on Parteek Dahiya, turned the game. Gujarat Giants will now go on to face Telugu Titans next in PKL 11.
“All the teams in PKL are good, irrespective of where they are sitting at the table, so we will plan accordingly. We still have two days to plan it out. I am hoping Pawan Sehrawat plays in the game but we will plan for all of them, ” added the coach.
On facing Arjun Deshwal and Jaipur Pink Panthers
Despite suffering an early ALL OUT, Parteek’s brilliance, including a Super Raid in the 9th minute, helped Gujarat Giants close the gap. By halftime, the score read 20-17 in Delhi’s favour.
The second half saw relentless action. Dabang Delhi inflicted another ALL OUT but struggled to contain Parteek, whose successive successful raids and Super 10 brought Gujarat Giants back into the contest. In the final moments, a bonus point by Ashu Malik ensured Dabang Delhi K.C. avoided defeat. Delhi will go to face Jaipur Pink Panthers next in PKL 11.
“Jaipur is a good team, Arjun is one of the best raiders in the world. So we have to stop Arjun Deshwal to win. Stopping him would make this a little easy,” said Delhi captain Ashu Malik.
